One of HNA’s all-time top athletes, Erika Johnson ’11, will return to her alma mater this year as Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach under Head Coach Emily McKenzie. Erika led the 2010-11 Cougar basketball team to the WIAA State championship and a perfect, 29-0 record. She was named Gatorade Washington State Player of the Year and a Parade Maga-zine High School All American, and ranked among the nation’s top 25 recruits by Hoop-Gurlz. She was also HNA’s top player the previous two years, when the Cougars finished third and then second at State before taking the title her senior year.

Erika went on to play at the University of California (Berkeley), then transferred to the Uni-versity of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), where she appeared twice in the NCAA Sweet 16 and once in the Elite 8. She was on the ACC Academic Honor Roll, Dean’s List, and twice won the Athletic Director Scholar Athlete Award.
