BEING HEARD AT COUNCIL MEETINGS

If you have something to say about a matter that is on a Council Agenda, you can attend either a Community Access Session the week before the meeting, or subject to eligibility as a party with an interest, you can make a presentation during the Council meeting.

COMMUNITY ACCESS SESSIONS

These sessions are generally held on the fi rst and third Wednesday of each month at 5.30pm. Passionate about something? Have a great idea you think needs to be heard? Then why not come along and tell your Councillors about it. The next Community Access Sessions will be held on Wednesday 4 March 2020 and Wednesday 18 March 2020.

Any topic that relates to the business of the local government can be discussed in these sessions. Can I talk about something that’s on the Council agenda at this session? YES!

Does what I have to say have to be about something on the agenda? NO!

PRESENTATIONS BY PARTIES WITH AN INTEREST

When there’s a matter on the Council agenda that you may be directly affected by you can come and speak to the Council during the formal Council meeting.

Applicants, landowners, neighbours of affected properties, representatives of relevant community organisations or other stakeholders may all be eligible to speak during this session.

USE OF RECREATIONAL SPORTING GROUNDS AND HARD COURTSWINTER 2020 SEASON

1 APRIL – 30 SEPTEMBER 2020

Applications are invited from clubs requiring the use of City reserves and hard courts during the 2020 Winter Season (1 April 2019 – 30 September 2020).

Application forms are available from the City of Busselton Venue Support Services Team by Emailing: bookings@busselton.wa.gov.au. Please direct all enquiries to Tracey Marra on

(08) 9781 0440. Copies are also available to collect at Geographe Leisure Centre and Naturaliste Community Centre.

Completed application forms must be returned no later than 4.30pm, Friday, 06 March 2020. A copy of current public liability insurance must be attached to applications.

From the applications received, ground usage will be scheduled and ground hire charges will be raised.

GST will be proportionally applied to all ground usage within the City.

BUSSELTON MARGARET RIVER AIRPORT – REGISTRATION OF

INTEREST AND ADVERTISING SURVEY

Survey Closes 28 February 2020

Busselton Margaret River Airport will soon service three interstate Jetstar passenger services per week from

Melbourne in addition to the current FIFO fl ights. The City of Busselton is undertaking a short survey to

gauge demand for advertising at Busselton Margaret River Airport. In order to maximise the benefi ts for your

business, we would like to understand where at the airport you would like to advertise and how you would

like to display your content.

Following the survey, Busselton Margaret River Airport will fi nalise advertising opportunities and make them

Expression of Interest Closes 28 February 2020

The City of Busselton is calling for Expressions of Interest from established and experienced business owners to operate a kiosk to service regular public transport (RPT) and charter services at the Busselton Margaret River Airport under a commercial arrangement.

Direct Melbourne- Busselton fl ights will commence on 25 March 2020 and the City of Busselton is looking to enter into a commercial agreement with a suitably experienced operator to run a kiosk located in the Busselton Margaret River Airport terminal building.

COMMUNITY BIDS 2020/2021 – GRANT INFORMATION WORKSHOP

The City of Busselton is holding a Community Bids grant information workshop for all interested not-for-profi t incorporated community and sporting groups. The aim of the Community Bids scheme is to grant fi nancial assistance to organisations that provide services or activities that align with the City’s Strategic Plan and deliver sustainable social, environmental and /or economic benefi t to the City of Busselton community. CITY OF BUSSELTON INFORMATION SESSION

TENDER INFORMATION FOR A PANEL OF PRE-QUALIFIED

SUPPLIERS FOR CONSTRUCTION SERVICES

The City of Busselton is hosting an information session for builders interested in Tendering for

a panel of pre-qualifi ed suppliers for Construction Services.

The information session will be held in the Kaloorup Room, however, attendees will need to

present to the Customer Service Centre (off of 2 Southern Drive) to be signed in as a visitor.

The session date and time is Tuesday, 3 March 2020 11.00am - 12:30pm. Please register to

PROHIBITED AND RESTRICTED BURNING TIMES EXTENDED

During February the City made permanent changes to its Prohibited and Restricted Burning

Times. These changes have been made to allow the City to exercise greater control of

ignitions within the City and thereby allowing for the safer use of fi re as a means of

mitigating the risk of fi re.

As of 15 February 2020 the following will apply:

• Prohibited Burning Time: 1 December to 28 February each year

(was 15 December to 28 February)

• Restricted Burning Time: 15 October to 31 May (was 2 November to 12 May)

As a result of the changes to restricted times, burning permits are now required from

15 October to 30 November; and 1 March to 31 May each year.

The provisions were adopted in March 2010 are hereby revoked by the publication of this notice. The rescission shall have effect from the 26 February 2020.
