All services are provided by graduate students through Murray State's counseling psychology program under the direct supervision ofDr. Samir Patel.

The Counseling and Assessment Center within the College of Educat ion and Human Services is housed in Alexander Hall on Murray State University's main campus.

We provide affordable psychoeducat ional consultat ion, evaluat ion, and counseling services to Murray State students, faculty, and staff as well as to members of the local community. We serve children, adolescents, and adults.

Counseling Faculty

Our comprehensive evaluat ions are specifically structured to assess the individual's strengths and funct ional limitat ions and to generate recommendations and intervent ions to address those limitat ions. We specialize in:

- Aut ism (as early as 12 months)- Learning Problems- Developmental Delay (as early as 1 month)- Mood Disorders- ADHD- Gifted and Talented- Childhood Behavior Problems

Our consultat ion services consist of an intake and clinical interview, behavior and personality test ing, and individually administered tests that assess reasoning, memory, and academic skills.

You should allow a minimum of four hours for the interview, assessments, and other procedures.After the tests and procedures are completed,we will soon provide you with a writ ten report and invite you to return to our offices for a review ofour findings.

Assessment Services

In counseling, you will discuss your personal challenges or concerns with an object ive person who has training in counseling skills. Our counselors can help you:

- Make sense of difficult experiences- Find new ways to reframe challenges you
