Community of Smiles Events

This is Your Opportunity to Shine!

Community of Smiles is a very unique event where many dentists, assistants and administrators come together to volunteer on a Saturday to ofer free dental work to the local community. These events are usually announced in the news media, including television, radio, and newspapers.

These events are quite hectic and very busy as many many people line up early (think Black Friday!) to get free dental treatment. Local television stations will perform live reporting from the event! In 2018 there were more than 100 people turned away and 250 served!

If one of these events is scheduled to happen during your scheduled course, it willextend the course by 1 week. All students will need to attend the event, as it gives you – the future dental assistant real exposure to many dentists and managers from diferent local areas.

Being an all day event, they are usually set up as two shifts of personnel, so nobody has to work the entire day.
