Course Name/Grade Overview

Course DescriptionThis is the second year of a two‐year sequence in the IB/AP Biology curriculum. This course continues an in‐depth study of selected topics introduced in IB Biology 1. An emphasis is put on cell structures, membranes, genetics, botany, evolution, human anatomy and physiology, and ecology and conservation. Laboratory activities are accentuated with the goal of improving student scientific writing skills and to reinforce key research concepts; these labs are used for IB assessments. Additionally, students will design their own labs. Students must complete IB Biology 1 and IB Biology 2 to take either IB and/or AP exams.
