Bethany Hamilton

· She is a professional surfer from Lihue, Hawaii. She was born to a family of surfers on the island on February 8, 1990.

· At the age of 13, Bethany was attacked by a 14-foot tiger shark while surfing off of Kauai’s North Shore. The attack left her with a severed left arm.

· After losing 60% of her blood and through several surgeries she made a remarkable recovery.

· She is an inspiration to millions, as she did not let this setback stand in her way of her goal to become a professional surfer. Only a month after the attack she was back in the water and within a year she returned to competition.

David Beckham

· David Beckham is an English footballer who currently plays for French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain. He has played for Manchester United Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, Los Angeles Galaxy and the England national team for which he holds the appearance record for an outfield player.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt
