Mangalore is the chief port city of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is located about

350 kilometres (220 mi) west of the state capital, Bangalore. Mangalore lies

between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghat mountain ranges, and is the

administrative headquarters of the Dakshina Kannada (formerly South Canara)

    district in south western Karnataka.

Ensconced on the coast, this maritime city makes a pleasant and convenient stop between Goa

and Kerala. With its narrow, winding streets fringed with coconut palms, quaint houses with

terracotta-tiled roofs, beautiful beaches, temples and churches, and the aroma of spicy coconut

curries, it has preserved its old-world charm. Mangalore was a major seaport and ship-building

centre in Hyder Ali's time. Today it is a business and commercial centre and Karnataka's major port

for the export of coffee, spices and cashew.

The Someshwar Temple overlooking a rocky promontory, the ancient 10th century Mangala Devi

Temple dedicated to the Goddess Mangala Devi, and the 11th century Kadri Manjunatha Temple

with its exquisite bronze images of Lokeshwara co-exist with splendid churches and mosques.

Among the more remarkable mosques are the Jumma Masjid in Bunder, built centuries ago by the

Arabs, and the Idgah Mosque at Lighthouse Hill whose construction is attributed to Tipu Sultan atthe end of the 18th century. The St. Aloysius College Chapel with its magnificent Biblical frescoes

adorning the walls and ceilings is worth a peek. Equally impressive is the Shreemanthi Bai

Memorial Government Museum with its wonderful collection of objets-de-art, archaeology,

ethnology, porcelain, and wooden carvings. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the Pilikula

Nisagardhama, a sprawling 300-acre park, 12km from Mangalore, which has boating facilities,

wildlife safari, mini aquariums and a science centre.

Shyamala is a visiting therapist at the Upledger Institute's Intensive Programs in

Florida and its Dolphin Assisted Therapy programs in Freeport, Bahamas. She

specializes in helping people reconnect with their own true essence. Cranio Sacral

    About Upledger institute international:

Upledger Institute International (UI) is a healthcare resource center

recognized worldwide for its comprehensive education programs,

advanced treatment options and for its unique outreach initiatives and is

recognized around the world as a leader in healthcare education. This

Institute was found in the year 1985 after decades of Research and in the

same year Upledger Clinic was established. Over 100,000 therapists have

benefited from the training they've achieved through The Upledger

Institute. And with new programs and new opportunities to come, tens of

thousands of new therapists and millions of more patients will benefit as

well. Dr. Upledger founded Upledger Institute International to teach people

worldwide about the value of this effective approach. Today, the Institute is

one of the most respected training venues in the world, with more than

90,000 alumni. Dr. Upledger also founded the Upledger Clinic the same

year to provide treatment to individuals suffering from pain and

dysfunction, and to continue his groundbreaking research in a clinical

    setting.

    About Craniosacral Therapy:

CST was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E.Upledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at

Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and

    Professor of Biomechanics.

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the

functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system -

comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and

protect the brain and spinal cord.

Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of

a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to

improve the functioning of the central nervous system.

By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is

increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster

resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems

    associated with pain and dysfunction

program or graduate of awaiting licensure/accreditation

Few systems have as much impact on the human body as the craniosacral

system. It protects and nourishes the brain and spinal cord - and affectsnearly every aspect of central nervous system performance. That's why

CST is so critical to your healthcare practice. Developed after years of

university research and testing, it allows you to release fascial restrictions

anywhere on the body that may be impinging the craniosacral system and

every other system it interacts with. In this workshop you'll learn gentle

techniques to normalize the craniosacral system and allow the body to

self-correct. By unraveling pain and dysfunction at the source, you'll

naturally help eliminate stress, strengthen resistance to disease, and

    enhance health in every dimension.

Course Highlights:By the end of this 4-day workshop the learner will beable to:

DDescribe the scientific foundation and principles of CranioSacral

Therapy - and why it's the key to relieving pain and dysfunction at

    their source

DDemonstrate finely tuned palpation skills you can rely on as highly

    sensitive and intuitive healthcare tools

DIdentify the subtle craniosacral rhythm and interpret its patterns to

    accurately evaluate dysfunction and improvements

DLocate the source of physical problems by traveling through the

fascial system, that complex web of tissue that impacts all body

    structures and systems

DRelease dural tube restrictions to enhance interactions between

the central nervous system and the rest of the bodyDUse techniques that produce dramatic health and relaxation

effects, including Direction of Energy and Still-Point Induction

DWork with approaches to a number of common ailments such as

TMJ dysfunction, head and neck pain, central nervous system

    disorders and many more

DPut a simple, effective 10-Step Protocol into practice right away

    FReview of the 10-Step Protocol.

FAdverse strain patterns of the face, to include:

zygomatic bones, maxillae, vomer, and palatines

patterns of the bony face can cause a myriad of issu

the face, throat, intracranial membrane system, th

    and physiological systems.

FArcing is an assessment technique used to locate

(lesion) patterns. Advanced CS practitioners use this

technique most often for its accuracy and speed.

FRegional Positional Tissue Release is used to

positions that are most helpful in releasing lesion paelegant and efficient treatment process.

FFacilitated Segments are spinal cord areas tha

debilitating issues. Using a process to locate these s

then treat them is essential to a CS protocol, esp

working with clients experiencing chronic issues.

FFascial Glide is an assessment technique used to pr

fascial lesions. If more than one lesion is found the

determining the primary lesion will be used.

FDiscussion of adaptation of CS technique for childre

    newborns.

FHow to effectively integrate techniques from CSI a
