Celanese is fully committed to supporting the North,Central and South American paint industries by providing high performance emulsions to every step along the value chain. We are constantly studying and evaluating the formulating, marketing and regulatory trends affecting the coatings industry in order to provide innovative solutionsto paint manufacturers.

For the formulator, we provide emulsions that are tailored to meet their needs. For example, in order to achieve the

increasingly stringent VOC limits in North America, we help to formulate out coalescing solvents to produce low to no VOC paints. Celanese emulsions also play a large role in the application characteristics of coatings including excellent touch-up for the contractor or good rheology for smooth flow and even finish for the DIYer. Finally, our emulsions can help the dry paint film to achieve good stain and scrub resistance as well as superior durability which are demanded by the homeowner for years to come.

Emulsions for every step along the value chain.

Spotlight on EcoVAE®

Celanese Emulsions has developed the new, innovative EcoVAE line specifically created for the North American paint market. These emulsions address the formulation and regulatory concerns as well as offering distinct competitive marketing advantages such as environmentally-friendly, APE-free, low odor, good touch-up and scrub resistant. These are of special importance to specifiers attempting to achieve green certifications in buildings.

We offer a line of high performance emulsions including vinyl acetate/ethylene, vinyl acrylic, 100% acrylic and specialty polymers. Building on decades of experience in emulsions for low to no VOC coatings, Celanese has shown manufacturers that premium quality paints can be formulated without coalescing solvents when starting with vinyl acetate/ethylene (VAE) emulsions. As the global leader in this technology, our latest generation of APE-free VAE emulsions (Ecovae® brand) can be formulated into premium quality interior decorative paints with low to zero VOCs. Our vinyl acrylic line of emulsions (Avicor™ brand) enables formulators to meet durability and high scrub requirements in both conventional and low VOC paints. Our Avicor acrylic emulsions are designed for interior and exterior use where durability and washability are key requirements. Finally, our
