    19. Take the pocket fabric (7 1/2’’ x 11’’ ) and press 1/2’’

under to the wrong side around all sides of the rectangle.

Fold the rectangle in half to enclose the raw edges. It

    should then measure mark 6 1/2’’ x 5’’.

    20. From the ‘Sewing Applications’ menu select the

Topstitching icon and stitch along the fold in

    black rasant.

    21. Measure in 2 1/2’’ from each edge and mark with chalk.

This marking will be the sewing lines to separate the

    pocket.

    22. Position the pocket 1’’ from the bottom and side in

the bottom corner opposite the watermelon. Pin

    the pocket into place.

    23. Select Utility stitch #03 and stitch down the

side seams and across the bottom of the pocket,

leaving the top open to insert the cutlery. Stitch the

marked line to separate the pocket into three

    sections.

    24. Following manufactures instructions attach the

fusible fleece to the backing fabric.

    25. Using basting spray attach the front panel of the placemat to the

fleece and pin the layers together.

    26. Attach the Twin AcuFeed Flex foot and select the

    Dual Feed icon.

    27. Select the straight stitch #03 Following the pattern on the

    fabric stitch the layers together.

    28. Depending on the fabric you could crosshatch the background

for a heavier quilting background. (As created in the sample)
