CATview Instructions

1. The installation of the CATview viewer is fairly straightforward, and will install on your C drive under its own directory name, similar to Figure 1. (This is a Windows XP configuration, but Vista would give the same result).

2. When you open CATview, from this folder, or an icon that you may have created on your desktop, you are, in all probability, seeing an opening screen with the upper left-hand similar to Figure 2.

3. This is due to the fact that the CATview system cannot locate the databases.4. If you click on File in the upper menu and then open Directories, see Figure 3, you will see the Directory Trees. You must have an identical path for the Working Directory and the Database Root. See Figure 4.

5. Create a folder on one of your drives and name it CATBASE. Figure 5 shows this drive as drive D. However, your drive could be an external USB drive, your main drive C, or any drive within your system. If it is an external drive, it must always be connected when accessing this database.

8. Open CATview, and from the upper menu, open File and Directories (see Figures 3 and 4), and enter the path for the CATBASE directory recently created. See Figure 8. (Drive D is shown, but your drive designation may be different).

9. The two icons in the upper left-hand corner of the CATview interface will now appear and the application will work as intended. See Figure 9.

10. The blue circle represents the Parts structure and the red circle represents the Maintenance structure. The PDF documents for the Maintenance structure, see Figure 10, may be opened in a separate window, if desired. This only requires configuring the PDF viewer accordingly.
