This special, “performative lecture” will come from one of the most forward-thinking artists and authors from cultural space of former Yugoslavia, whose work is in recent decades increasingly marked by a wish to overcome the physical boundaries of terrestrial art forms, and initiate and enable creative action, collaboration and communication - in space. The lecture will showcase a number of ideas and project developed by Dragan Živadinov over the years, the most recent of them through the Delak Institute. The institute is the vehicle for the work of Dragan Živadinov (attractor, candidate cosmonaut), Dunja Zupančič (visual artist) and Miha Turšič (designer of zero-gravity dwellings). Delak Institute focuses primarily on the research and development of post-gravity art and art that emerges in conditions without gravity. Delak Institute produces the fifty-year theatre project Noordung::1995–2045, which includes also the performance Biomechanics Noordung (1999), the first complete theatre production in zero gravity, which was performed in a Russian cosmonaut training aircraft.

Dragan Živadinov, born in 1960 in Ilirska Bistrica, is a Slovenian theatre director. He studied theatrical direction at the Academy of Music, Radio, Television and Film in Ljubljana from1980 to 1984. He was a cofounder of the art movement Neue Slowenische Kunst (1985). In the 1980s he constructed the style formation retro-gardism. In 1983, he founded the retro-garde Scipion Nasice Sisters Theatre and in 1987 the cosmokinetic observatory Red Pilot. In the early 1990s he transformed Red Pilot into the Noordung Cosmokinetic Cabinet. In 1995 he embarked on the fifty-year theatrical process “Noordung 1995–2045” through the style formation of telecosmism. In 1998 he became a candidate cosmonaut and in 1999, realised Biomechanics Noordung, the first complete theatre production in zero gravity conditions. In 2005 he staged the first reprise of Noordung 1995–2005–2045. The secondreprise took place in 2015. In the 1980s he constructed retro-gardist events and observatories and during the 1990s he constructed informances. Since 2000 he has been constructing post-gravitational theatrical abstracts.

This talk focuses on what it means to be resilient, why resilience is so important and the research behind how individuals can work to develop resilience. It provides rich examples of how small business entrepreneurs have been resilient or vulnerable during times of crisis. It highlights what creative professionals can do to develop more resilient careers.

Dr. Rachel Doern joined the Institute of Management Studies at Goldmisth University in 2014. She previously worked at Royal Holloway University of London, and the Universities of St. Andrews and Essex. She has a PhD in Management, an MSc in International Marketing, a BComm in Marketing and a BA in Economics and Psychology. Much of Rachel’s research examines the cognitions, emotions and behaviors of entrepreneurs in adverse conditions. Her research is inter-disciplinary in nature, drawing on micro-sociological and psychological approaches to understanding resilience and vulnerability in an entrepreneurial context and how entrepreneurs interact with different stakeholders as they develop their businesses, particularly during times of crisis. Recent research projects look at entrepreneurial diversity, identities and communities.

Self-employed, independent professionals, freelancers, precarious workers, … whichever term you prefer this are one of the most important segments of creative hubs users. Although self-employment is encouraged by governments and on the rise in Europe and globally, little focus is put on strengthening much-needed freelancer-specific soft-skills. Tobalance work and life, prevent burnout, decrease stress and enable more secure financial future, we in Poligon developed a hands-on program that empowers freelancers to confidently develop their careers in today’s turbulent labor market.

Eva Matjaž has a BA in Psychology and MA in Social Work and Sociology. She is a certified teacher and independent researcher. She is the co-founder and program director of the first Slovenian creative center Poligon. She also co-founded Slovenia Coworking and Slovenia Crowdfunding initiatives, research institutes Memo Institute and Intakodalje and Slovenian’s first library of things - Knjižnica REČI. Her research focuses on: alternative models of wealth, opportunities and pitfalls of new work and new economy models and the potential of creativecommunities. Creativity is the process of creating new ideas. Transformation of thought is a necessary precondition for each new idea, the most complicated technological design, scientific theory or work of art. Hence, ideas come first, followed by their products - inventions, scientific achievements, artworks. The creative spirit sees ordinary things in a new and unusual way. Creative strategies are ways of seeking ideas. Today’s production in various cultural registers too often falls into clichés. Getting away from the clichés is possible if the thought process, which involves many abilities, is directed towards originality, flexibility and mobility of thought. What does actually happen when someone says “Hey, I have an idea!“? Having an idea isnot such a common event, it is more of an unexpected turn of events, something unusual. In this workshop, the focus will be on analyzing examples of different creative strategies in the process of reaching ideas in the field of creative work. Participants will beintroduced to various creative strategies that can be applied in the domain of creative professions.

This interactive workshop will be focused on developing and supporting specific skills that help us become better at planning and organizing our activities. The main topics will include the importance of setting goals, creating plans that support their achievement and tips and tricks that help us stay focused, reach the flow state more often and ultimately feel more satisfied at the end of the day. The saying goes that “we all have two lives. The second one starts when we realize we only have one”. Let’s enjoy the intercultural dialog and help each other make the best out of that second one.

Studies show that teams have better predispositions for innovation, they are quicker in spotting mistakes and problems, and are seeking better solutions to challenges, offering suggestions for improvement. Still, working with others can sometimes be very frustrating, distracting and not that effective. How can we improve the power of team and enhance leadership potentials of each team member. This presentation will demonstrate helpful tools for creating and leading a process that involves a group of people who are on a common quest – to create a shared value, impact-full projects and desirable products and services.

Nana Radenković is one of the co-founders of Nova Iskra, where she is focused on creating mentoring programs, trainings and workshops for individuals, organizations and companies interested in taking an active role in the processes of transformation - not only of their projects and businesses, but also through creation of new ways in which we could learn, live and work in the future. She holds a MA in Management in Culture, Interculturalism and Mediation in the Balkans from the University of the Arts Belgrade, and has extensive experience in working in the private, public and civil sectors. In today’s environment, organizations are continuously introducing changes in response to internal and external factors. These changes demand new ways of thinking, communicating and leading. When managing change, one must start with himself in order to effectively lead others through change. Socrates said, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”

Nikola Veličković has spent the last 8 years creating innovative learning solutions for individuals, NGOs and corporations. As a Learning Journey Consultant at Gi Group, Nikola designs tailor-made solutions that are easily transferred into the work place and contribute to both the individual and the organization. He has had the pleasure to work and interact with hundreds of individuals worldwide as well as some of the biggest companies in the region: Atlantic Group, Coca Cola Hellenic, Nis, Aroma, Roche, Tetrapak, Strauss Adriatic, Unicredit Bank, Vip Mobile, Erste Bank amongst others. Nikola believes that creativity and innovation are the fuel that drives progress. He believes that art and science can and should coexist and he is constantly trying to find common ground between the two.

CFCU

Following the decision of the Helsinki Summit of the European Council on 10-11 December 1999 accepting Turkey as a candidate country, the main Framework of Turkey - EU financial cooperation has changed and EU financial assistance was directed towards the pre-accession goals and ultimately full membership. This change led Turkey to establish a “Decentralised Implementation System (DIS)” under which the CFCU is also operating.

The CFCU, as the Implementing Agency, is responsible for the overall budgeting, tendering, contracting, payments, accounting and financial reporting aspects of all procurement of services, supplies, works and grants in the context of EU funded programmes. Under the responsibility of a “Programme Authorising Officer (PAO)”, the CFCU ensures that the EU rules, regulations and procedures pertaining to the procurement are adhered to and that a proper reporting system is functioning. The CFCU is administratively linked to the Undersecretariat of Treasury which is responsible for the financial management of EU funded programmes.
