Problem StatementVehicle Accident claim
• Random assignment of examiner to estimate the damage cost.• No process in place to assign efficient examiner• Inefficient examiner estimates more amount than actual
damage. • Huge loss due to wrong estimation• Workload is not equal for all the examiners• Examiner located far away from the accident spot takes more
time to reach the spot.• No estimation of actual examiners required for a particular
area.
Justification for Implementation
• Removes the manual error.• Makes the process less tedious.• Same examiner working repetitively.• Selecting an effective examiner.• Examiner near the vicinity of the accident spot.• Determine the number of examiners required in a certain
location.• Work load on the examiners.• Prejudices of the person allotting the examiners.
Project Goals
•35 % reduction in manpower
•Optimum examiner allocation and utilization
•Reduction in claim amount by employing expert examiners
Strategy and Activities• The process behind assigning the examiners to the accident
cases is automated with the help of the proposed functionality which is added as a separate menu in the customer’s website.
• All the examiners working with the company are assigned ranks based on the complexity and the number of cases solved by them in the past.
• With the help of GPS , the examiners that are in the vicinity of the accident spot are selected and they are arranged based on their respective ranks.
• The list is further refined by taking into account the number of cases taken care by the examiner in any particular month. This helps overloading any particular examiner.
• Now the examiner in the top of the stack is assigned to the case .
