Cricket Connects Program – What is it?
The aim of Cricket Connects is to:Make South Australian Cricket, through its clubs and stakeholders, the most fun, family-friendly, inclusive and community connected of any sport in Australia.
Cricket Connects is a strategic program of work consisting of six separate but interdependent projects that aim to improve SA cricket for all participants both on and off the field by:
• Delivering more accessible and relevant information to players, coaches, parents and volunteers via a simple on-line, mobile platform.
• Effectively tapping into, and encourage the sharing of, existing knowledge through a simple, accessible, on-line, mobile platform.
• Aligning and unifying cricket segments into self-governing regional bodies that are capable of determining their priorities and tapping into resources to help them achieve their local goals.
• Trialling the centralised administration of junior competitions within a region and documenting a lifelong cricket participation pathway
• Ensuring that South Australian cricket is played in the true spirit of the game and that all associations adopt, support and uphold Spirit of Cricket ideals
This will all happen in the 2018/2019 season as a series of Pilot programs to prove concepts. Once reviewed at the end of the season, plans will be made to scale up each initiative for broader application.
