Akzidenz Grotesk Light (Bold) is a bold, sans serif font used to show pride and dignity. The studs on the individual letters are retained from the previous logo, but modified to give a modern touch to it.

The diamond shapes at the sides of the slogan represent brilliance and durability. It also symbolises the efforts of CRISTOFORI to shape and polish its students and customers into fine musicians.

The slogan is placed as a separate element under the logo so that the overall shape looks more organic. The Chinese slogans, which are seen sometimes in the original logos, are removed since it might give the misconception that CRISTOFORI is inclined towards the Chinese. Since Singapore is a cosmopolitan country, more students of different races will join CRISTOFORI.

A brace is used to join multiple staffs that represent a single instrument. In the context of the logo, it represents CRISTOFORI as a music company that unites all music lovers to share their joy of music and self-expression.

Exclusion areaEnsure that plenty of clear space is left around the brand mark to maximise brand impact by using the shape as a guide as shown in the diagram. Allow more clear space whenever possible. No other graphic elements should intrude into the defined clear space.

Black, white and gold are the colours derived from the piano. Yellow is used instead of gold to represent CRISTOFORI’s undying flame of passion for music and life. Black and white are essential colours that contrast each other perfectly to create clear visuals. As

background colours, they can create a sophisticated or dignified look and allow focus on the details. They are versatile colours that are easily accepted by the masses.

The triangular shapes are abstract forms of the cutting of a diamond. It is inspired by the process of cutting, shaping and polishing rough stones into brilliant diamonds. The students of CRISTOFORI music school may start off without any knowledge of music at all, but they will shine after attending CRISTOFORI.

Silhouettes of musical instruments are used so that they do not steal the focus from the main point of whatever information they are trying to convey, such as in brochures and posters.

Ribbon banners are sometimes used for headers so that they will stand out from the rest of the designs. They represent dignity and shows that CRISTOFORI is proud to present the message it is trying to communicate to us.

A polygonal shape is used together with a yellow background to frame everything up when appropriate. Although the border looks slightly formal, the yellow background lightens the mood and captures attention.

Light rays resemble those of stage lights. It shows how CRISTOFORI students perform musical instruments with confidence and pride. They stand out from the crowd and will not fail to impress.

Diamond studs derived from the logo can be used in several ways. They can be repeated to form a line, or used individually as bullets for point forms.

Headers – Brandon GrotesqueBrandon Grotesque is a sleek, prominent font with a tinge of casual feel especially when used in uppercase. It gives a clean and professional look, which brings out the clear intentions of CRISTOFORI being an established and up-to-date music company.

Body copy – Akzidenz GroteskAkzidenz Grotesk is a sans serif font with high legibility when used as body copy. It looks neat and presentable, so it will be easily accepted by people of all ages.

Corporate stationery – LatoLato is a refined sans serif font that is suitable small amounts of text. It is only used for company details in envelopes, letter heads and name cards.

Congratulations to Mark Bryan Foo (left, 3rd prize), Yeo Yao Rui (centre, 1st prize) and Ng Chien Tat (right, 2nd prize) for their outstanding performances in the CRISTOFORI Piano Competition 2010/11. Yeo Yao Rui walks away with the $20,000 PG-157 Grand Piano while Ng Chien Tat and Mark Bryan Foo both win $1000 and $500 worth of CRISTOFORI Music Cash Vouchers respectively.

The CRISTOFORI Annual Live House 2011 has gotten an overwhelming response. A big thank you to all the performers who have done so well in delighting our ears with beautiful music. They have been practising for 2 months and their efforts are seen. Highlights of the event include the violin performance by the talented duo, Sharon Tan and Vernon Ang, as well as the pop concert by rock band Talentine.
