This web quest was created to gain knowledge on a select group of artworks. You learned about the specific pieces as well as learning about the actual artists. You were able to take what you learned online and express it in discussion with your peers. Lastly you were able to take what you know from both the discussion and research and create your own work of art. Was your expedition as a curator successful?

Hello students, today we will be doing a web quest on curating a gallery! If you read the first slides you will read exactly must be done to complete this project. As you read that you need to get into groups of two. Once your groups have formed you may begin exploring the Google Art Project site. We are only exploring the three museums listed- The Met, The Frick, and MOMA. You may explore the other parts on your own time at home. There is good artwork and information to learn.

Once you have selected your 5 works of art, raise your hand for me to approve the art. Once you have had approval you may begin researching and evaluating to write your paper. You are writing one paper per group. Make sure you are both doing equal work. You may have one person be a scribe while you both discuss.

When presenting your gallery I don’t want you to read off the paper you wrote. Use that as a guide to your presentation. You and your partner decide what you want to say.

When it comes to creating art, you each will be doing your own. All the work in the museums are primarily paintings, so you all will be painting. You must create multiple thumbnails, one being the best and have me look over them to guide you in the right direction.
