• Interim Chancellor Wray has formed a Task Force to study Missouri S&T’s "current state" research capacity report and develop a "future state" recommendations report to expand and elevate S&T's research performance and reputation.

Specifically, the charge to the Task Force is:

1. Review the "current state" research capacity report and collect other pertinent data as deemed appropriate.

 2. Recommend short- and medium-term actions that can be taken to improve

the research performance of and increase the research capacity at S&T. 3. Recommend areas/disciplines in which we must invest, including hiring new

faculty and research personnel and recruiting high quality graduate students to enhance the research mission of S&T.

• Findings by the Task Force should be summarized and presented to Interim Chancellor Wray no later than Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
