December Abstract Expressionist Project
Students will research and understand the importance of
color during the Abstract Expressionist movement of
the 20th century.
2.3, 4.1, 4.3, 4.4 Students will be given Abstract Expressionist artist
and painting. They must research the artist and
reproduce the painting as well as create a new painting dine
in their artist’s style. Once finished, students will present
their research to the class.

Alternative Methods in art: Book Folding
Students will be introduced to Charcoal as a drawing
medium. Using the charcoal shading techniques, students will be challenged to shade the folds and wrinkles of a
