TRANSCRIPT
The Gamble

LA FAMILIA PRODUCTION
INT. Dark, empty spacious room, location unknown
Starts off with an extreme close-up of a young man’s eye.
He is John Staples, a successful business man.
Johns face is a mixture of fear and confusion, as he
desperately tries to escape from the ropes tying him down,
preventing him from getting loose. There is a medium shot
to show a pack of cards placed in his jaw.
John (V.O.)
The Craziest things that money drives us to do
...I had it all
... I lost it all
...I GAMBLED it all
Deranged looking figure appears, to the sound of heavy
breathing and psychotic laughter. Half his face and
identity is hidden, as he is wearing a white mask with
white gloves. He is dressed in black and dancing, as if he
was doing the waltz with a partner, emphasising his
psychotic persona even more.
John (V.O.)
In a crazy way he helped me...
He helped me realise
Close up of the crazed masked man, as he leans towards the
defenceless John in a threatening manner.
‘Do you like magic?’(Calmly spoken)
‘I SAID DO YOU LIKE MAGIC!!’ (Aggressively spoken)
The crazed man unexpectedly throws a vicious punch to
johns face.
He continues to torment John by walking side to side, as
if he was a tiger getting inpatient and eager to pounce on
his prey
‘Rule number one,
Never, NEVER interrupt a magician
John
‘immm gunna k k’(mumbles with drips of blood trickling
down)
In a middle of a card trick’
John looks up at his attacker wearily, as the crazed
masked man continues to further abuse him but this time
with verbal use not physical.
‘I meet people like you all the time; they think they got
it all’
Money...
Power...
Fucking happy families!!
‘Look at you; you’re in no position to be chatting shit at
me’
The masked man shows John a pack of cards, King of
diamonds, a joker, jack of diamonds and a card with a
young girl on it, who closely resembles John.
The masked man violently strikes John again, forcing john
to spit the pack of cards out
Soundtrack fades, as John his shown battered and bruised
with his suit in a mess after his ordeal with the masked
man.
John
‘cough cough, arghh fucking hell man
Sss ahhhh’
FADE TO BLACK
