Australia – Import Regulations

Customs RegulationsDuty free entry is permitted provided the removal goods consist of household and personal effects that have been owned and used for 12 months or more preceding the owner's departure for Australia.

The owner's goods may be cleared through Customs in advance of the owner's arrival provided the client will arrive in the country within 6 months following arrival of goods, however all shipments received at Australian Ports must have a consignee contact address otherwise customs will not allow the movement of the container resulting in additional costs for the shipper.

Personal EffectsPersonal effects and household goods are usually admitted free into Australia provided they are for your own use. Australia has strict quarantine regulations and all shipments will be inspected for soil, plants and food, particularly on garden tools, shoes, sports goods and vacuum cleaners.

Please Note that AQIS will examine all consignments. Clients will be charged in accordance

with the time taken to carry out this process. Where fumigation or cleaning is required there will be an additional cost for this. If any item or consignment has to be destroyed the client will also be charged by AQIS for the process to take place.

Dogs and Cats - documents

NB: You can bring dogs or cats to Australia from the UK and Ireland, New Zealand, Hawaii, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Norfolk Island under certain conditions. Dogs and cats must have been resident in any of the approved countries for at least 6 months (or from birth), and during that period of 6 months preceding export they must not have been in quarantine kennels in the country of export.

In all cases, a permit must be obtained before a dog or cat will be permitted to enter Australia. Enquiries concerning the importation of dogs and cats from United Kingdom and Ireland should be directed to the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Canberra House, Maltravers Street, Strand, London WC2B 4LA.

Permits to import from other approved countries other than from New Zealand, must be obtained from the Chief Quarantine Officer (animals). In the case of dogs and cats from New Zealand, any enquiries should be made to the Animal Health Division, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in the nearest New Zealand city.

Birds are prohibited animals and will be destroyed on arrival.

Motor Cars for First Time Migrants - documentsAll motor vehicles are subject to customs duty and sales tax, subject to alteration without notice by Australia Customs. Custom’s assessed value of vehicle is based on depreciation at 5% of

Goods Which Require Permit:

Importing Currency:

A natural person has a right to import Belarusian roubles in the amount not exceeding 500 base amounts without declaring the money in written form.

No limitations are imposed on the amount of foreign currency that can be imported by foreign citizens to the Republic of Belarus.

Less than US $ 10,000 in equivalent, no obligatory declaration in written form is required, except if the person wishes to declare the money and if the money is imported for the purpose of using it as foreign gratuitous assistance.

No limitations are imposed on the amount of money imported to Belarus by means of certificated securities, travelers and bank checks, plastic cashless payment cards, and no obligatory declaration in written form is required.

Determination of the customs value of imported goods: Importer is to determine the customs value him/her when filling out a customs declaration. Depending on the circumstances of a trip, to verify the customs value of goods transported by natural persons, the following originals of documents are accepted: agreement (contract); specification; invoice; accepted pro forma invoice; cash-memo; receipt; inventory and etc.

Export regulations by Belarus customs

There are no restrictions in weight, cost and quantity terms for export from the Republic of Belarus.

-endangered varieties of plants and species of animals inscribed on the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus, their parts or derivatives (except those cultivated or bread by man);

-printed materials or audio, video records, other information carriers containing information which can harm political or economic interests of the Republic of Belarus, its state security, health or citizens morality;

-scrap metal and waste ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals, including half-finished products;

A natural person has a right to export Belarusian roubles in the amount not exceeding 500 base amounts without declaring the money in written form.

Citizens leaving the customs territory of Belarus are entitled to export foreign currency not exceeding US $ 3,000 in equivalent without declaring. In case the sum of money exported from the country exceeds US $ 3,000 in equivalent, you need to declare the money in written form. To export more than US $ 10,000 in equivalent, you need to have special permits like a document issued by the customs service, which proves you have imported this foreign currency to the customs territory of the Republic of Belarus or that of the Russian Federation, or you need to have a bank permit.

For shipments originating from a non-European Community country, a certificate is required stating that the customer has resided outside the European Community for at least twelve months prior to arrival in Belgium (certificate issued by the Belgium Consulate at the place of origin) or employer in country of origin or branch office in Belgium.

For company moves, a signed and stamped declaration from the employer confirming that the transfer is required

Belgians who canceled their registration in Belgium and who are returning to Belgium within two years, must prove that their stay abroad was a result of their settlement abroad. The customs documents issued at the time of exportation of their household goods and or motor vehicle must be produced to the Customs authorities at the time of re-importation. In the absence of such documents, a warrant must be made.

Non-European residents who intend to take up permanent residence in Belgium may import their household goods and personal effects including an auto, motorcycle, or pets duty and value added tax free providing:

o The customer has lived at least twelve months consecutively out of Europe prior to the move

o The household goods and personal effects must have been owned and used a minimum of six months prior to the move

Foreigners without a Certificate of Residence in Belgium must pay a warranty of 10% for Customs duties plus 21% VAT plus BFRS 500 to cover any possible fines

Used household goods may be imported in several separate shipments; however, the declaration of duty-free entry must be completed for all shipments at the time of the first importation

Import regulations by Bosnia Herzegovina customs

Customs authorities may enforce strict regulations concerning temporary importation into or export of items such as firearms, religious materials, antiquities, medications, business equipment and other items. It is advisable to contact the Embassy of your destination country in Washington or one of those countrys consulates in the United States for specific information regarding customs requirements.

Export regulations by Bosnia Herzegovina customs

In many countries around the world, counterfeit and pirated goods are widely available. Transactions involving such products are illegal and bringing them back to the United States may result in forfeitures and/or fines. In an attempt to protect Brazilian crops/fauna/flora from what is known in the USA as the Chinese Bug (Anoplophora Glabripennis) the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture has imposed severe restrictions that are effective immediately on the entry of pallets/wooden airvans/liftvans/crates etc.

Wooden units must have a fumigation certificate issued by the applicable official government agency in the origin country

Wood must be certified it has been treated with heat, fumigation or other type of previously agreed upon chemical product

Fumigation should be completed not more than 15 days prior to shipment If wooden crates/units/pieces arrive in Brazil without the certificate the goods will either be

incinerated at the importers expense or be treated if possible in Brazil Recommendation is to completely refrain from using wood for packing purposes in all shipments

to Brazil, advise to: o Loose pack all items in metal containers for surface shipments o Use tri-wall air containers for air shipments o Use mirror cartons rather than crates for paintings, glass or mirrors

In the event it becomes necessary to ship lift vans or crate fragile items the certificate must accompany the cargo

China officially announced emergency quarantine regulations effective January 1, 2000. China will be requiring USDA certification of heat treatment for all conifer (i.e. pine, spruce, hemlock or fir) solid wood packing material (SWPM) OR exporter certification that none of the packing material in the shipment is conifer wood. The regulations apply to both air and sea shipments. SWPM includes but is not limited to, dunnage, crating, pallets, packing blocks, drums, cases, spools and skids.

Improperly certified shipments are subject to one of three actions:

1. The shipment can be returned to origin. 2. The shipment can be separated from the packing material, at the importer's expense. The packing

material would be destroyed. 3. If the shipment cannot be separated from the packing material and is not returned to origin, then

both the shipment and packing material would be destroyed.

Exports: Travellers holding a valid ticket for a destination outside the EU (and certain areas within the EU, such as the Canary Islands) can buy goods free of duty and tax in so-called "tax-free shops" in airports and ports. There are no limits as to the quantity or value of the goods that can be purchased duty and tax free. Travellers should however bear in mind that the importation of
