1 Introduction The U-QASAR project has been launched on October 1, 2012 and it has run for 36 months. Starting

November 1, 2012, the project’s progress has been documented and publicly available on a website at

http://www.uqasar.eu

1.1 Document Purpose This document presents the deliverable D6.2 Project Internet Site and Publications of the U-QASAR

project, which summarizes some of the work conducted under task T6.1. Dissemination, specifically

those activities related to the website of the project, the social media presence and the academic

publications.

This report also serves as a short documented overview of the U-QASAR websites’ requirements and

capabilities. It does not discuss any of the project’s research topics or activities.

This is the last revision of this document, delivered in month 36 of the project.

Firstly, the document presents a set of requirements for the U-QASAR website as identified by the

project partners.

Secondly, it shows the website implementation details, presenting the following aspects: Technical

Specifications, Structure Description and Sections of the project website. The document ends with a

presentation of the different social media channels that U-QASAR has used during the project.

It must be remarked that the project’s website has changed along the life of the project.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the Dissemination Level of the website is public, but the present

deliverable is restricted (RE) since it provides technical information about the implementation of the

site.

1.2 Approach Applied The document describes the main requirements (functional and technical) for the website and explains

the design decisions taken to fast deploy it.

It presents screenshots that capture the image of the website and the status of the social media

channels used in the project.

2 Requirements This Section describes the requirements of the U-QASAR website as identified by the project partners in

a requirements analysis. These requirements are the basis for the design specification and the resulting

implementation.

2.1 Technical Requirements Table 1 - Technical requirements

Audit Trail

All pages should have an audit trail to identify who last updated

them, at what time and on what date.

Technology Used The use of a Content Management System is desirable, so all the

partners, even non-RTD ones can update content at any time.

Compatibility with HTML5 is desirable too.

Website Statistics As a minimum, the website statistics should be provided in the form

of number of access and number of documents downloaded.

Security Privileges Only U-QASAR partners can modify the content of the site. External

users will freely download documents and specific pieces of

software when available.

Hosting Hosting services will be required, adapted to the technologies

selected for the design and deployment of the site.

The domain U-QASAR.eu has already been acquired and several lists

have been created for notification purposes:

3.2 Structure Description This Section describes the structure of the U-QASAR website. It does not, however, specify the graphical

appearance, i.e. the “design”, of the pages. The structure of the website has been flexible during the

lifetime of the project. The following subsections describe the content and structure of the website once

at the time of the deliverable submission.

The website structure is divided as follows:

1. Blog: Home page of the site: It’s periodically updated with information related to the project: forth-

coming and past events, information related to the knowledge areas of the project, information

about the partners, participation in conferences, publications, etc.

2. Project Overview: Summary of the project. Scientific & Technological Objectives

3. Partners: Short description of each partner in the consortium: Expertise, Role in the Project, Con-

tact Data.

4. Downloads: Section for downloading the public deliverables of the project, as well as publications,

papers, presentations, etc.

5. Events: Section that lists all the events where U-Qasar partners has been present to present or

discuss project plans, results or possible collaborations.

6. Join Us: Section for users to show their interest in the project through email, form, or contacting

through the social media tools.

7. Social Media: Links to Twitter, Facebook page and LinkedIn group.

8. Private Area: Link to the wiki/repository of the project, based on Confluence; accessible only to

consortium members

9. Call to Action: Section where visitors to the U-QASAR webpages are asked to enter their details in

order to belong to U-QASAR mailing list.

10. Latest Tweets: section where the last tweets of the U-QASAR user (@UQasar) are shown.

11. Latest Blog Posts: section where the last posts of the U-QASAR blog user are shown.
