He added that the book is coming out at a time when technology is positively transforming the lives of millions of Indians. Prime Minister stressed on the need to understand that technology is a bridge and not a divider. He added that technology builds bridge between aspirations and achievement, demand and delivery, gov- ernment and governance in order to achieve ‘SabkaSaath, SabkaVikas’. He said that positivity, creativity and constructive mind- set is essential for fast growing aspirational India. He also emphasized on the need to build bridge between artificial intelligence and human intentions . Governance through technology: The journey of last five years Prime Minister narrated how technolo- gy has been a key component of govern- ment schemes in order to reform, trans- form and perform. He mentioned about the use of data intelligence, digital mapping and real time monitoring in UjjwalaYojana which has transformed the lives of millions of women. He also talked about how tech- nology has helped in empowering people through schemes like Jan DhanYojana and Ayushman Bharat. Prime Minister also outlined that his gov- ernment has used technology to remove silos amongst government departments and build a bridge between supply systems and demand, through innovative ideas like Government e-market Place (GeM). He explained how technology was used to cre- ate a robust Start-Up system in the coun- try, especially in tier-2 and tier 3 cities - which has helped in the development of an entirely new ecosystem of startups. Talking about the need to convert chal- lenges posed by technology into opportu- nities, PM cited the example of the cre- ation of India Post Payment Bank. He added that the disruption caused by technology to the entire postal organization was con- verted into a technology intensive banking system, benefitting millions through postal bank which transformed ‘dakiya into a Bank Babu’.Diplomatic Corp, Government representatives & Media Personalities attend The event witnessed participation of members of the diplomatic corps, includ- ing the Ambassadors of USA, Great Britain and the People's Republic of China. About the Book : The book presents a powerful vision of the future where tech- nology and human beings co-exist in a mutu- ally beneficial ecosystem. It argues that instead of accepting technology as replace- ment of human labour, India can use it as an aid to generate more jobs. The cutting edge digital tools can act as a bridge between aspirations and achievements - hence the term ‘bridgital’. Page-3_Page-2.qxd 10/30/19 11:54 AM Page 1

told that writer and society are

integrally connected with each

other. No writer can write in

isolation and similarly no writer

can remain unaffected by the

society around. The socio-

political and economic envi-

approach to the world. The post

series of changes in literary per-

ceptions and analyses. It cre-

ated a new world order which

is governed by a new set of

values and novel aspirations

of the states and people. It is

a society of creation of wealth

as a primary value. Both at the

level of the individual and the

state it is being understood as

a sign of progress.The unipo-

lar world has created a world

order with the states becom-

ing more and more powerful

and the hard earned freedoms

of people seem to be shelved

in the name of national inter-

ests. Egalitarianism seems to

have taken a back seat in the

wake o f new economic

changes and challenges. In lit-

erary sphere post –modernity

has become a major phe-

nomenon spreading its wide

wings casting their dark shad-

ow over the world menacing-

ly. The reality is no more real

and falsehood is no more false.

What glitters is not gold and

what irks is not pain.

The truth is hidden behind

a mesh of pretensions and pro-

paganda prevails as truth. The

media has come forward in a

big way to define and present

the strains of life. The concept

of Post Truth is a new theo-

retical premise being used and

discussed widely to negotiate

between what is and what is

projected.

The new media has taken

over the traditional print medi-

um. This electronic and digi-

tal revolution has created a

world of virtual experience

which has replaced the real life

experiences and reached a

point where it seems more real

than the real one.

These and other issues

will be discussed in the con-

ference.
