Flooding Recovery – Colorado Current Situation:
• IST White & 3 US&R teams continue operations in CO; UT-TF1 & NE-TF1 demobilized Sept 20
• All Denver water system dams are currently safe & not threatened
• River cresting will continue to move downstream, forecast to reach North Platte, NE today
Impacts:
• 7 (+1) confirmed fatalities; 143 (-61) residents missing
• 3,933 residents evacuated (number of evacuees in Weld County unknown)
• 9 (-3) shelters open with 227 (+86) occupants (NSS 5:00 a.m. EDT, Sep 21)
• 1,882 homes destroyed; 5,566 homes damaged (incomplete reporting)
• Water Quality engineers/USACE assessing water & wastewater infrastructure damage
• Cellular service to a majority of customers in eastern & southern CO interrupted Sept 20
• Schools & postal operations will resume regular schedules on Monday, Sept 23
• Sporadic power/natural gas outages continue
