The Dallas Red Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on providing financial support to organizations in the North Texas area that serve individuals affected by HIV/AIDS.

The work of our foundation began in 2009 when a group of friends decided to make a direct impact in their community and raise money for the Legacy Counseling Center, a local organization which provides affordable and quality mental health care, substance abuse treatment, and special care housing services to people in the North Texas area who are impacted by HIV/AIDS. Their decision to host an event that year called the Red Party attracted hundreds of attendees from the local LGBT community and would be the kick start to the Red Party becoming an annual fundraising event.

The continued success of the Red Party and its signature events eventually lead to its incorporation in 2011 as a nonprofit called the Red Party Foundation, helping fortify the future of the organization.

In 2014, a newly elected Board of Directors developed a new strategic vision focused on bringing a larger, more diverse group of community members together at its events to continue the support of the Legacy Counseling Center and provide members of the LGBT community with greater awareness of support services available to those impacted by HIV/AIDS.

With this new vision also came a new name – the Dallas Red Foundation. And while the name has changed, the mission and heart of the foundation has remained ever steady as a nonprofit organization that produces lively and engaging events to provide financial support for organizations that serve those affected by HIV/AIDS in the North Texas area.

Through our signature events and annual Red Party, the Dallas Red Foundation has been able to donate over $65,000 to benefit the Legacy Counseling Center – with our 2014 donation of $25,000 being our largest to date!

MAKING A POSITIVE CHANGEIN THE COMMUNITY

Considered the primary and largest provider of HIV specific services in North Texas, the Legacy Counseling Center has grown as a nonprofit organization for the last 25 years by providing affordable and quality mental health care, substance abuse treatment, special care housing services and emotional support services to men and women who are impacted by HIV or AIDS.

Since 2009, the Dallas Red Foundation has been committed to supporting the mission and goals of the Legacy Counseling Center and all of the services and programs they provide to our community including:

Counseling Services• Mental health therapy through individual, couples, family and group counseling sessions

• 24-hour emergency on-call services for individuals dealing with suicide and crisis situations

• Minority outreach counseling

• Women’s programs, including the nation’s largest conference for women living with HIV

Substance Abuse Programs• Substance Abuse Programs that provide

intensive/supportive outpatient programs and ongoing relapse prevention services for HIV-positive individuals struggling with alcoholism and other chemical dependencies

Founders Cottage• The Founders Cottage is a licensed, seven-room

special-care facility for people living with AIDS in critical stages of their illness who require 24-hour supervised care

Housing Programs• The Master Leasing Program provides apartments to be subleased to

homeless individuals living with HIV along with the opportunity to become more independent through various education, counseling and training programs

• Homebase for Housing is a housing information and referral program to prevent homelessness and improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS in Dallas County and seven surrounding Counties
