DANAOS PLATFORM is the professional social network for the Shipping industry. This platform has been developed:

• To promote collaboration amongst Shipping Companies

• To enable integration between the various in-house systems that shipping companies currently use

• To link your business activities with your business partners and third parties, live, thought an active

shipping directory

• To socialize professionally via messages, forum postings, conferencing, etc.

The Danaos Platform offers a unique architecture that gives your company full control: you can choose the right

mixture of cloud-based, or office-based tasks, in order to tailor your processes according to your needs, from Start to

Finish.

• No private information is retained on the platform, thus fully complying with the requirements of:

business ethics, information privacy, security, and auditability.

• The Danaos Platform will allow your company to progress faster into the new era of shipping, where team

work, outsourcing, transparency, and visibility will benefit your organization in terms of performance,

quality, and profitability.

The Danaos platform is dedicated to the shipping sector. The individuality, privacy, and security of each member

company, or of each individual shipping professional, are of primary importance.

Shipping companies are able to produce Web-services from their existing in-house software systems and render them

on the platform.

• Existing IT systems can be updated with information from the platform by consuming Web-services that

are offered by the other platform members.

Registering as a Company Representative to start using DANAOS PLATFORM

1. Using an internet browser access https://www.danaosplatform.com

2. Type your email [[email protected]] in the Register as a company member field and click the Register

button

3. Type your full name, company and captcha validation in the next screen:

In the following minutes you will receive a xlsx file in the mail address you specified.

Here you see an example of the excel file you will receive. You can edit this excel file in your confort without beign online (e.g. on-ship) and send with email when you have finished entering your information

• You can fill this form ussing Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice and send the xlsx file to [email protected] email address.

• The xlsx file will be automatically processed and your company will be registered in DanaosPlatform in the next business day.

• Tip: DANAOS Platform has an integrated storage and retrival system that can automatically process all popular file formats like xlsx, docx, pdf



Intuitive User Interface

• Danaos Platform home screen shows a list of your lattest messages. At the top right you may log off from the system or use the maginfying glass to search for other member companies in the shipping industry:

Here we can see an example of using the Danaos Platform messaging system

• The integrated messaging system makes it easy to communicate with member companies with no need to know their mail address, in an easy and efficient way

• The browse for recipients screen opens up the Shipping Directory where you can search with any part of the name you like or category, city or country

Here we can see an example of using the View e-drawings service from DANAOS MANAGEMENT

• E-Drawings application is one of several services developed by DANAOS MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS • Let’s look at the steps of selecting a service from a company and then using this service

Step-1 search for a company to view the provided services

On the top right you can start searching for Platform members to collaborate

In the following screen we see the results after searching with keyword DANAOS

A list appears where we can choose the company to collaborate with or see their products and services

We use the magnifying

glass to search for DANAOS

Search results display companies registered in the platform with “Danaos” in

their name

A plus sign means that there are more users in

this company



Step-2 select the web service you want to use

Each member in DanaosPlatform has its own reports, forms, news, offers, announcement, invites and member affiliations and services

As you can see in this screen, the member DANAOS MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS has several services to offer, most of them are related to the company’s DANAOS ENTERPRISE suite of products.

Of course each member can provide each own services that facilitate their own ERP systems and databases.

selected company, so we choose View E-Drawing

Step-3 fill in some required parameters for the web service

When the user selects a service with required fields we have to fill in the fields either by typing or selecting from the drop-down boxes

In this service we have a drop down list where we select the Vessel name. The service connects with DANAOS ENTERPRISE and brings a list of Vessels that are available from the selected member company. If the same service was available from another member company who is also a DANAOS ENTERPRISE user, the list will contain the company’s vessel names.

The required parameter is the Vessel name. Each

Step-4 we enter the main screen of the service where we can find a specific part in the vessel’s drawings

Here on the main screen we see the selected service.

Most services have a Post or Attach button.

• With Attach we can attach a file to send back to the company • With Post we send a completed form back to the company

These are just guidelines. A member company can design its forms any way they want. But in most cases there’s a Post button to send information back.

In this particular application (view e-drawings) the company user can search for a vessel part to make an order and deliver it.

As you can see there are several options to search for parts, either by location, equipment, item manufacturer etc

• Additionally, clicking PLAN we can see all the available drawings for the current Vessel in a single page

The expanded tree leads to the drawing of Heavy Fuel Oil Purifier where we select the ALVL P625-13

Step-6 let’s say we choose the #24, that is the top bearing seal part number 560202 01– choosing the part takes less than 2 minutes whereas an engineer could make over an hour to search the manuals and drawings. Also, serious human mistakes are prevented this way

Step-7 Click Requisition and a form is completed automatically for us, where we only need to fill in the ports and delivery dates

Step-8 our last step. We have all the selected components ready for the order together with the required details (dates, port of delivery etc.)

Click Create to create a requisition entry in the DANAOS ENTERPRISE

application so the business process of E-Quotation can proceed.

As we said in the beginning, pressing Post sends the information back to the company, in our case the order is directly entered in the DANAOS ENTERPRISE Supply Application

Here we can see an example of using the Electronic Invoicing Service

• The invoicing service helps suppliers see their pending invoices, agree their prices and upload the required invoice directly to DANAOS ENTERPRISE Supply module

• Electronic Invoicing has a simple user interface removing all burden associated with invoice control • Single Screen procedure: check your invoice, upload any documents and Post everything back to

the company:

• Procedures become faster, easier, safer, convenient, secure and seamless

Select from which date and after you would like to see invoices

Here we can see an example of using the View Your Account Service

• The View your Account service helps suppliers see the booked invoices and view the uploaded invoices

Let’s see now an example of Supplier Quotation Service

• Using this service a supplier can enter prices directly to DANAOS ENTERPRISE SUPPLY MODULE without

having to send and receive email messages and have people re-entering the information twice.

• As explained earlier you first have to search for the company providing the service, so this service will

appear on the right pane on the available services:

• Now choose the RFQ’s from the list provided, the currency and if you like the overall discount and validity

• Note that the menu on the right may contain values from the last time you used the service

To clear the item press the small X

• Now on a single screen you can see all items a supplier needs to quote, change quantities, prices,

discounts, days of availability, even add expenses and charges.

RefNo is not a required search field. This is used to reference your quote on

your system.

DANAOS PLATFORM Quick Users Guide DANAOS MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS • The supplier can save a draft copy in Excel or XML allowing for suspending and resuming work before he

sends the quotation. Note that in order to use older version of Excel (2003 and back) you need to first

download the Microsoft Compatibility Pack that enables old versions of Excel to work with xlsx files.

• Saving in XML can be useful to import the quotation in a different ERP system, in the supplier’s side

• After clicking Post, the quotation automatically enters the software of the DANAOS ENTERPRISE SUPPLY

MODULE.

In Version 1.2 of the Supplier Quotation we have introduced an alert message when you post the quotation and a price is left empty. Pressing Cancel will return to the quotation screen while OK will post it with the empty prices.

When you hit the Post button to send the quotation, you will receive a notice of success:

Quotations (RFQ) History

• By using this service a supplier can look at the history of the quotations he has placed to the specific

company he is looking at the profile page.

• You can search for a company profile page very easy using magnifying tool in the upper right

corner of the screen and typing the name of the company (or part of it). If there’s only one company

with that name, the platform will take you straight to that company bypassing the shipping directory:

• In the next screen you will see the Profile Page of the company you have searched with a list of services

provided. Look at the lower part “use offered applications & utilities” and select RFQ History and press Go

• Choose the starting and ending date for the list to appear:
