That we respond obediently to God’s call and have the confidence to walk on water. “He said, “Come”. Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus.” Matthew 14:29 When you hear Jesus calling, do you responded immediately and trust that He knows what He’s doing? If so, you are walking on water! When we say “yes” to Jesus, we feel the power of his presence in our lives. We can feel the freedom it gives us! Listen
how Jesus is calling you to live the extraordinary life He has intended for you.

Dear Parish Family,
We are now in the month of August, and my, how time just flies so fast! Still in the midst of this pandemic, I just
would like to bring your attention to happenings in our parish. First, we are having the first group of our young
people receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation today. The second group would have their Confirmation on the last
Sunday of this month. We have to divide them because we have a large group this year and we are only allowed 25%
capacity in the church. I am sure they are all happy knowing that it is FINALLY going to happen after it was
rescheduled to an indefinite time. Let us pray for these young people of our parish as they receive this Sacrament of
maturity and that they will live, practice, and witness their faith all throughout their lives!
On Saturday, August 15, we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Since Sundays and
Holy Days of Obligations are dispensed for the time being, this feast will not be a holy day of obligation this year. We
will still honor our Blessed Mother by celebrating a mass in honor of Her. But what a meaningful feast for us! It’s
reminding us there’s life beyond death—eternal life that God intends for us! Our Lord Jesus’ resurrection is proof and
assurance of this. Mary’s Assumption is a further proof. Where She has gone, surely we will follow. Mary was the
first follower of Jesus. Her Assumption to life everlasting points the way for the other followers of Christ. Where she
is now, eventually we will be. So, death is not the end but a door that leads to Jesus’ place and where Mary is now. So
let us pray to God and Mary’s intercession that one day we will all join Her in the eternal happiness of Heaven!
To Jesus through Mary,
Fr Dwight

Prayer in the Time of Coronavirus Comfort us, O Lord, for we are like your disciples on the storm tossed seas, unsettled by what lies ahead.
We turn to You, our Healer and Guide, to still our hearts in our time of need and hear our prayer: Heal those who are sick with the coronavirus and protect the elderly and most vulnerable.
Give strength to all who tend to our health and wisdom to researchers who work toward a cure. Open our eyes and hearts, as you did during Hurricane Harvey, that we may look beyond our immediate needs to care
for others who need help. Through the Holy Spirit, guide our leaders to make wise decisions for the welfare of all the people they serve.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died from the virus. May Mary, Our Mother, who has heard our pleas in the storms of our lives,
Intercede to her Son, that we may find healing and a prompt end to this illness.
Mary, Star of the Sea, pray for us.
Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, heal us.

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Blessed
Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You

least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated
from You. Amen.
