The season of giving thanks. It’s hard to give thanks when you are living in a world where terror exist in the least likely of places. It was just last night when Paris lost 120+ innocent lives and I wonder how we can be thankful in a modern age where death and destruction is so easy for so many. It saddens me that humanity, and those whom believe it’s OK to harm and terrorize others by their harsh beliefs, is OK to do.

What I am going to say is harsh, but we can’t pad things and believe it’s all fairy tales and roses. The fairytale will have sad endings, sometimes, and we’re taught that the hero always wins and the villains loose, not in our reality. That roses are a sign of love, but the reality is, roses have thorns and can prick you and draw blood. So, how do we exist in these times, when we want our leaders to create change and take these groups out and protect the innocent citizens occupying and living their lives in cities that are always effected by these actions. I want to see change, I want to live in a world where we can feel safe, where our expressions and creativity are free to do as we wish. But these terrorists believe so strongly that they are above us all, and that their way is ok. IT’S NOT, and we must take a stand and speak loudly to our leaders around the globe and demand justice and that these organizations stop the abuse and bloodshed of the innocent.

Dark Beauty isn’t about death, it’s not evil. Dark Beauty is finding the glory, and solitude that ignites within you that drives you to become inspired by the beauty in darker portrayed pieces of work. Love lost, hardship, romance, solitude, and light that surrounds your imagination. We at Dark Beauty send our condolences to the families in Paris, and around the globe. We dedicate this issue to them, and surround them with light even in darkness. May you find the light within you, allow it to guide you though the dark. Stand together and fight hate!
