Dashi Namdakov (1967), is a Russian sculptor, graphic artist and jeweler, graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Fine Arts, Member of the Russian Union of Artists.

Dashi's creative work is unique. He is a sculptor - a graphic artist, a jeweler and a designer in one person.

In his artistic "palette" researchers are finding in surprise the coexistence of monumental, decorative, easel and small plastic works, various colors of patina on bronze, drawing on paper, various technologies of creating jewelry, sketches for tapestries and an ability to work with a film group (the film "Mongol" by Sergei Bodrov)

Universalism is also the legacy of the nomad steppe culture, when the patriarch was supposed to be a warrior, a cattle farmer and a blacksmith and also know how to build a yurt and hunt for the clan to survive.

His monumental sculptures are incorporated into the landscapes of Kazakhstan (Astana), Mountain Shoriya (Kemerovo), Transbaikalia (Aginsk) and the Irkutsk region (Ust-Orda region).Dashi’s works can be found in the collections of the State Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the State Museum of Oriental Arts, the Russian Contemporary Art Museum in Moscow, Tibet House, NYC, the Guangzhou Museum of Art in Chinain and in private collections the USA, Europa, Japan, China and Taiwan

On the eve of the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan city a new Marriage Registration Palace named Family Centre “Kazan” opened its doors

The building was constructed for one year and a half.

Originally it was planned to be the media center for journalists accredited for the Universiade, and only after the games it was meant to become the Marriage Registration Palace.

The building was constructed on the right bank of the Kazanka River

It was designed by a famous artist and sculptor Dashi Namdakov.

Zilant is a legendary creature,

something between a

dragon and a wyvern. Since 1730, it has

been the official symbol of Kazan.

Total area of the building makes 6200 m². The form of the palace symbolizes a Tatar boiler – Kazan, which is decorated by the metal bas-relief with winged leopards.

The highlight of the complex is a 32 meter-high viewing platform, which offers a breathtaking view of the river and of the ancient and modern Kazan Kremlin.

Kazan is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. With a population of 1,143,535, it is the eighth most populous city in Russia. Kazan lies at the confluence of the Volga and Kazanka Rivers in European Russia.

The Kazan Kremlin is a World Heritage Site. In April 2009, the Russian Patent Office granted Kazan the right to brand itself as the "Third Capital" of Russia. In 2009 it was chosen as the "Sports capital of Russia” and it still is referred to as such. The city hosted the 2013 Summer Universiade and will host the 2014 World Fencing Championships, 2015 World Aquatics Championships, and 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The origin of the name Kazan is uncertain. The most accepted legends derive it from the Bulgar (and also modern Tatar) word qazan, which means 'boiler' or 'cauldron'. One legend claims that the city was named after the river Kazanka, which was named after the son of a Bulgar governor dropped a copper cauldron into it. Other local legends claim that the city was named for the resemblance of the hill on which it sits to an upturned cauldron.

The building represents a huge cauldron over a blazing hearth in which city life is bustling.

Up to 100 ceremonies can be held in the palace every day. There are bride and groom rooms, wedding reception halls, and a sightseeing platform.

In its interior, "Kazan" reflects the thousand-year long history of the city. The lounge on the lower level symbolizes the era of the Great Volga Bulgaria.

Above, the interiors are decorated with pointed arches, typical of Kazan Khanate.

Still higher, the interiors are decorated in the classical style. On the top floor, there is an observation deck with a total area of more than 1.2 thousand square meters. It offers a panoramic view of the Kazanka River, the Kremlin and the modern part of the city.
