    Services1- Mechanical Services

    1/1 Mounting and Dismounting

Anti friction rolling bearings are manufactured with very high precision and require specific

mounting and dismounting tools and techniques.

If the bearing is not mounted properly using the correct method and tools, the bearing’s service

lifetime will be reduced. The use of proper dismounting methods tools will help prevent damage

to other machine components, such as the shaft and housing, which are often re-used.

equipment and pullers (mechanical and hydraulic).

    1/2 Alignment

The correct positioning of equipment is crucial to its performance. It is therefore very important

to insure that all equipment within the facility is correctly installed and is in alignment with any

    other connected equipment.

      1/2-1 Shaft Alignment

    What exactly is shaft misalignment?

Misalignment occurs when the center lines of rotation of two machinery shafts are not in

line with one another. There are two types of misalignment: parallel and angular. In most

cases, machine misalignment is actually caused by combination of these two types.

What are the possible consequences of shaft misalignment?

    Increased friction. Premature bearing failure.

Premature shaft and coupling failure. Failure foundation bolts.

    Failure Excessive seal lubricant leakage.

What Methods can be used to align shafts?

Straight edge Dial indicators Laser shaft alignment

      1/2-2 Belt Alignment:

One of the common reasons for unplanned downtime of belt –driven machinery is pulley

misalignment. There are two types of misalignment: parallel and angular. In most cases,

machine misalignment is actually caused by combination of these two types.

What are the possible consequences of pulley misalignment?

Increase wear on pulleys and belts. Premature bearing failure.

Increasing the noise and vibration levels. Cause unplanned machinery downtime.

A laser belt alignment tool is quicker and more accurate than traditional methods It can align

pulleys of unequal width or with dissimilar faces to further reduce pulley and belt wear.

2- Machine Condition Detection and Analysis Services

    2/1 Vibration Analysis

Rotating and reciprocating machine vibration is one of the most common machine condition

detection techniques utilized in industry today. The aim of measuring and recording vibration

data is to be able to anticipate equipment failures through analyzing the rich data as it provides

sufficient information about the condition of specific components within the machine.

Vibration analysis not only helps plant personnel reduce the possibility of catastrophic failure, but

also allows them to order parts in advance, schedule manpower, and plan other repairs during

    the downtime.

    2/2 Thermography

Thermographic imaging is a fairly new addition to the machine condition detection tool box. The

technology utilizes the heat energy emitted from various sources to determine the condition ofthe asset through its heat distribution pattern. This technology was first used to monitor

electrical assets such as junction boxes and power lines and connections but more recently has

found applications with rotating equipment, static equipment such as pipes and vessels and

hydrocarbon gas leak detection The technology allows for very fast data capture, easy to analyze

images and fairly accurate results making it a very user friendly technology.

    2/3 Electric Motor Testing

Electric motor component analysis has been one of the more elusive non-intrusive testing

techniques required by various industries. The purpose is to test the windings of the motorwithout needing to dismantle it. More recently this technique was found to be effective in picking

up gaps that vibration analysis would not be able to detect. This is done by analyzing the current

drawn by an electric motor which is representative of the condition of the rotating components

of the motor similar to vibration spectral analysis.

These tests could be performed both online and off-line for maximum convenience.
