become a disruptive force and contribute to the development of the people and the society as a whole. It aimed to identify innovations and startups, materialize the avenue to provide exposure, education and capacity building besides mentoring and incubation for startups and hold hand with innovators. The entire scope of the program encompassed ENventure - Business Plan Competition, Start Up Expo and Panel Discussion on the theme “Start-ups in Focus - Issues & Challenges and Developing Entrepreneurial Mindsets”. Mr. Rajeev Sharma (Former Secretary, Science and Engineering Research Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi) was the Chief Guest for the day accompanied by Guest of Honor – Ms. Sheetal Kapoor (Co-Founder, Oxxy Healthcare) along with various distinguished guests entailing:

The Conclave was inaugurated by all the dignitaries by seeking the blessings of Maa Saraswati followed by the welcome address by Dr. Sapna Rakesh - Director IMS, Ghaziabad University Courses Campus, wherein ma’am captivated the minds of budding entrepreneurs. She stated that students coming from varied backgrounds have distinct expectations and what they want to churn out of their degree is dependent on directing the energy resonating with their motives in life. She announced with pride that 30 students of IMS have blossomed into the entrepreneurial scene with their ventures and 9 of them are running registered enterprises. She announced that the reward prize money of the position holders of EN-venture will be equated by the sponsors namely Micromatic Grinding Technologies Ltd., Ghaziabad Precision Product and Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd. In continuation with the program, Guest of Honor, Ms. Sheetal Kapoor, expressed her views about entrepreneurial mindset and her work in development of Healthcare Sector in India. She stated - “The life of an entrepreneur is tough and challenging and is often hit by roadblocks, but one need to be self-motivated and success will surely knock the doors”. She mentioned that choosing a field of interest is an essential ingredient in this arena of start-up ecosystem. She asked the entrepreneurs to be observant and to always keep the doors of the mind open. She captivated the minds of audience and asked them to extra vigilant and that being proactive is the need of hour. Her mantra for setting up a new venture is to first always sniff the problem and try to convert that problem into opportunity. She cited her impeccable journey about launching Oxxy Healthcare in the Indian marketplace, discussed various problems faced and the way she kept her spirits high and the various initiatives undertaken by her to make “Oxxy” - Asia’s No.1 Healthcare organization. Chief Guest – Dr. Rajiv Sharma made the gathering aware about Government initiatives to felicitate startups ideas and provide funding to the research program. Further is reflected that an entrepreneur is someone who is a problem solver. He enlightened the audience about “India Innovation Programs” - An Initiative by Government of India, wherein these programs provide an array of opportunities to the students to represent their ideas on global platform. He also stated that in this dynamic environment one day you are in and another day you are out but to sustain in this market you have to put an extra edge over others. He believes that survival of startup depends on the way you utilize your resources, and the most important factor is uniqueness. He centralized on the fact about various Indian Startup Programs by NITI Ayog, etc. Thus, the overall message of his speech reflected on:

Initiatives to help startups Brief about various government initiatives Survival of the Start-ups Entrepreneurship is the key factor in the development of any economy. Entrepreneurs are the alchemists who know the right combination of all those elements which are required to convert problem into an opportunity. Start-ups are similar to sapling - many start-ups fail to develop and many stopped showing the signs of growth. While there are numerous reasons prompting the failure of start-up but one of the primary reasons for their success is the passion of their founders & co- founders.

On this occasion an E- book was launched, titled-“Startup Stories of India.” All the dignitaries along with authors of the Book - Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Dr. Geeti Sharma, Dr. Indrani Bhattacharjee and Dr. Nidhi Srivastava and entire student editorial team launched it. This main aim of this book was to acknowledge the efforts of the navigators.

With the help of a dedicated team of faculty, staff and students the inaugural session was executed with precision bringing a glory to each one associated with the program. And meanwhile the registrations for further programs like Start up expo and Business plan competition were being taken care by active student co-ordinators under the guidance of Faculty co-ordinators for the same. The inaugural session ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Indrani Bhattacharjee with the pursuit of holistic development of future entrepreneurs and creating well rounded value-based start-up culture for tomorrow. The guest then moved to the atrium for the inaugural ceremony of Start Up Expo.

Registration Desk While the inaugural session was going on in the auditorium a dedicated team of students was taking care of the registrations for Panel Discussion, Startup expo and Business Plan Competition. Start Up Conclave 2020 which the most intellectual event in the premises of Institute of Management Studies Ghaziabad University Courses Campus welcomed more than 300 interested delegates from different areas who participated and enriched their knowledge regarding the entrepreneurial skillset and learned many things within the same.

As an initiative of IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) to bring Start Up enthusiasts on

a common platform to share ideas and address the issues and challenges faced by them through

a wider forum, encouraged by the success of Start-Up Conclave 2019, START-UP CONCLAVE

2020 again brought together all Start Up enthusiasts including Start Up founders, Investors,

Industry Mentors, Funding bodies and student community under one roof to exchange their

ideas and gain an insight into the entrepreneurial environment of Delhi and NCR. After the

inaugural session all the distinguished guests including Chief Guest Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Ms.

Sheetal Kapoor, CA Dr. Rakesh Charria, Dr.Sapna Rakesh, Dr.Geeti Sharma, along with

members from GMA, faculty members and students moved to the atrium for the inauguration

of start up expo. The objective of Expo was to provide a platform to the budding entrepreneurs

to showcase their innovative ideas through their respective business plans. The main aim here

was that how new entrepreneurs are choosing other than conventional methods and

approaches to run their new ventures by using technology in the way of use of Apps, websites

etc. People who have developed their Start Ups in fields that has implications on Rural

Development, Social Change, Technology, Innovation and in Education were highly praised by

the judges. Around 20 start ups namely HI Home, In Own Home, OMED, JS Creative,

Crfaterina, Dhannocare. com etc were registered to compete for Best Stall award.

All the exhibitors presented their ideas to the judges with great zeal. The judges visited various

stalls and inspected the ideas. The judgment was based upon the presentation, commercial

feasibility and long term vision. All the start ups received positive feedback from the judges and

visitors. The best part was that students from our institute also presented fabulous ideas and

were praised by the judges. Their positive and valuable feedback would surely motivate them.

The event was perfectly managed and executed.

ENventure- A Business Plan Competition A business plan competition was initiated with more than 45 teams from various colleges of Delhi NCR region who presented their innovative ideas and different business models. This competition was going on simultaneously at three venues namely MDP room, Auditorium and room no. 406 of IMSUC. The motive behind organising a business plan competition was to help the participants clarify their strategy, identify potential roadblocks, decide what they’ll need in the way of resources, and evaluate the viability of their idea or growth plans before they get started. We had a learned panel of judges to assess the participants on various parameters.

The session began with the introduction of judges and felicitating them with sapling and

memento as a token of grace. Then the presentations were given by the participants and all the

teams were evaluated on various grounds based on genesis of idea, creativity, innovation,

technical feasibility, market feasibility, financial viability and social impact. All the teams were

given knowledgeable feedback and generous input from our esteemed judges. This surely would

have helped them to identify their loopholes. They were beautifully explained the importance of

a BUSINESS PLAN by our judges, as investors rely on business plans to evaluate the feasibility of

a business before funding it. From a huge list of innovative and interesting ideas presented by

the ‘to be entrepreneurs’, a few are:

InterNexus ( a rising platform for connecting students and companies for Internships.)

Softomation Technologies Pt. Ltd. (an IT firm working to make this world more beautiful by

helping people with developing skills, knowledge and ideas.)

Laalten (musical lamps)

Croblaze Agritech Private Limited (Croblaze is an upcoming online marketplace for farmers, Customers and Consumers to buy Fresh & Healthy vegetables/fruits, super-foods and

grocery in competitive cost)

House of Travel (It is to Tours and Travel Company with Event Management They provide

International Tours to the customers with Decent packages.)

The objective of this competition was to provide a platform to budding entrepreneurs

where they can convert their dreams into reality and learn from the experience of

judges. The session ends with a positive feedback and suggestions to all the participants from

judges.

Panel Discussion-1

The panel discussion was organized to share & brainstorm valuable insights regarding entrepreneurial minds on the “Startups in Focus - Issues & Challenges”. The main aim was to clear the doubts in the young minds on entrepreneurship and start up concept. The theme of the session was role of Incubators, Venture Capitalist, Government Policies, Role of academia and other facilitator for promoting an entrepreneurial economy. The objective of this program was to develop an insight in the minds of upcoming entrepreneurs about challenges and issues of start-up. The session began with the introduction of panelist and felicitating them with sapling and memento by Dr. Geeti Sharma (Chairperson – Management Department) as a token of gratitude. The experts from different domain enlightened the students with their rich experience. The discussion was initiated by Mr. Amit Pathak - moderator of the session with a quote that –

“Not Every Idea Is a startup” wherein he explained that startup is the need of this era and first step in formation of startup is selection of idea. The first point that he asked the panelist was how to select the idea for start-up and answering his question Dr. Amjad Ali said the selection of idea is very crucial in determining the success of startup and one should select the idea by understanding the pain points of customer. Further he added that selection of team is also quiet difficult task. One should select his team very carefully after analyzing the pool of talent required for that particular venture. Mr. Gagneet Kalsi continued the discussion by adding that due to selection of wrong team his first start-up was a failure. He stated that one should keep in diversity in team while appointing the following key members entailing: Hustler Hacker Designer

The second point of discussion enlightened the audience on whether “Finance is a challenge for startups”, wherein CA Anajni Sharma cited “yes” as an answer as it’s a biggest challenge for budding entrepreneurs. He also said that finance is blood of organization and to sustain in this dynamic world you must use your financial resources with utmost care. He further stated gone are the days of BOOT STRAPPING. Mr. Amit Pathak also gave various insights about incubator and accelerator. The last point discussed by each panelist was on Campus startup. Each panelist discussed on various pros and cons of campus startup. All the panelist agreed that campus startups are beneficial for today’s youth. Thus, the overall message of their discussion reflected on: Support by government Various facilities provided by colleges to the budding entrepreneurs Lack of professional experience No boot spacing The students asked various questions from each panelist. While concluding the discussion one such question was answered by CA Anjani Sharma where he said that while studying in college apart from acquiring knowledge one very important point to be kept in mind by the youth is to build network with their peers and various other people. Further he added that the Young entrepreneurs should register themselves with Incubators in Academic institutions as they can groom the baby projects without any selfish interest. These incubators at academic level are Not for profit bodies unlike Corporate incubators. Hence it is important to choose right kind of

incubator or right kind of help. Further he asked the- To be Industrialists to keep an eye on some of the important websites, register themselves with Startup India website which provides updated registration details about start ups, to keep an eye on investment websites such as Softbank, Tiger etc. The session ended after a very active and informative discussion among panelists and students.

The second round of panel discussion began with the introduction of panelist and felicitating them with sapling and memento by Dr. Geeti Sharma (Chairperson BBA) as a token of gratitude. Another set of experts from different domain joined us and enlightened the students with their rich experience. The discussion was initiated by Mr. Rakesh Guran, moderator of the session. He initiated the discussion by quoting – “Every Individual Is An Entrepreneur”, wherein he explained that startup is the need of this era and first step in formation of startup is selection of idea. The first point he asked the audience was ‘Who think that they have an entrepreneurial mindset and how you can say this’. In continuation Mr. Alok Nikhil Jha stated that those who don’t limit their thinking skills are entrepreneur and mentioned that entrepreneurial life is all about journey of surprises. Ms. Kalpana Sinha said that failure should be treated as a badge of honour, discussed the importance of entrepreneurial manager & 3 elements to start business. Elements to Start Business

The second point discussed was fear and challenges for startup? Mr. S.K Verma said yes it’s a challenge for budding entrepreneurs to start business but only fearless succeed. He also talked about how to overcome the fear and quoted ‘Fail Early, Learn Early’ and to sustain in this dynamic world you must use your financial resources with utmost care. Thus, the overall message of their discussion reflected upon: Entrepreneurial Life.

Valedictory Session

“Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won't, so you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t”

The valedictory session was initiated with welcome of the all the respected dignitaries, distinguished guests, faculty members, participants from various Delhi NCR colleges and vibrant IMSIANS to the valedictory ceremony of start-up conclave 2020 sponsored by Micromatic Grinding Technologies Limited, Ghaziabad Precision products Private Limited, Shri Ram Piston and Rings Limited. The session began around 5:00 pm after all the enthusiastic discussions and competitions throughout the day. The stage was decorated with the presence of Mr. N.K. Dhand, the chairman of Micromatic Grinding Technologies Limited. He started as an entrepreneur in 1973 and through his ethical and spiritual, management style along with relationship building skills across cultures, has built a successful organisation. Today the company is India’s no. 1 company in niche segment of manufacturing high precision, cylindrical, centreless, internal, universal and SPM grinding machines. The company has 2 plants in Ghaziabad and one in Bangalore which was started in 2008. Dr. CA Rakesh Charria , Treasurer IMS Group of institutions also graced the occasions with his presence and felicitated to Mr. Dhand with memento and sapling as a token of our gratitude. Mr. Dhand and CA Rakesh Chharia addressed the budding entrepreneurs and motivated them to achieve their goals. The session began by congratulating all the participants for their sincere efforts in opening up new avenues in business world. There were two categories for awards to be presented:

1. ENventure- Business Plan

2. Start up Expo Excellence Award

En-Venture, the business plan competition was successfully held at three venues where teams from various colleges and some other start-ups showcased their business ideas.

The following were the winners of ENventure- Business Plan Competition: POSITION I- The team- House of Travel, students of ITS Mohan Nagar, received the award of Rs. 50,000/- cash prize sponsored by Micromatic Grinding Limited along with

the Trophy and Certificate of merit.

POSITION II- The team- CROBLAZE, students of IEC, Greater Noida, received the award of Rs. 30,000/- cash prize sponsored by Ghaziabad Precision products Private Limited along with the Trophy and Certificate of merit. POSITION III- The team- LAALTEN, students of AKG, Ghaziabad, received the award of Rs. 20,000/- cash prize sponsored by Shri Ram Piston and Rings Limited along with the Trophy and Certificate of merit.

At the last but not the least the most critical award of the conclave which was Best Start Up Expo Stall Award which had exhibited their idea in the best manner was announced. It was won by: Mr. Pravesh Pandey from DHANNOCARE .COM. It is India’s first innovative and organised method delivering daily car cleaning services directly at customer’s doorstep. He received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- and Certificate of merit. Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director, IMS Ghaziabad UC Campus, heartily congratulated the winners and participants of the EN-VENTURE and START-UP EXO competitions and ended up this event with the hope that Start-up conclave 2021 will be even bigger and better for the institute and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. “The journey is never ending. There’s always going to be growth, improvement, adversity; you just got to take it all in and do what’s right, continue to grow, continue to live in the moment”

The Start up Conclave 2020 ended with the distribution of Certificates of Participation

to all the registered delegates.
