PHARMING: A New Online DangerMost people have heard of “Phishing” scams, which trick email users into visiting bogus web sites and entering personal or financial information. But now there’s a new scheme underway – and it could be even worse.
“PHARMING” involves hijacking or poisoning domain names. When you enter a web address, the pharmers send you to their web site instead. Worst of all, the address bar on your browser and the spoofed web site itself will probably look perfectly fine. So even though you typed in the correct web address, you could end up sending information to the wrong people.
Rest assured that our web site is designed with the latest security protocols, and we stay up to date on current scams and Internet threats. Keep in mind, if you have any suspicions about web sites or emails, it’s best to err on the side of caution.
