Tommy  is  a  ninth  grader  who  has  been  idenCfied  with  learning  disabili(es  in  the  area  of  language  arts.  He  is  currently  reading  at  a  seventh  grade  level.  His  wriCng  is  legible,  but  he  only  writes  simple  sentences  of  six  to  seven  words.  He  acempts  to  phoneCcally  write  words,  but  becomes  easily  frustrated.  He  does  well  in  ninth  grade  science  and  social  studies  during  discussion,  lectures,  and  when  text  materials  are  read  aloud  by  other  students.  The  teacher  administers  tests  to  him  orally.  Tommy  is  eager  to  respond  verbally  in  science  and  social  studies.  Concern  has  been  expressed  about  tenth  grade,  since  it  requires  lots  of  independent  reading  and  wri(ng.

Considera(ons  to  Evaluate  Apps

Does  it  TEACH  the  content?

Does  it  match  learning  characterisCcs  of  students?

Is  it  age  appropriate?

Is  it  individualized?

Does  it  measure  student  progress?
