The 2018‐19 Sanford Health Youth Medical Experience Program Students who will be in grades 11 & 12 next year are encouraged to apply. This program provides an excellent opportunity for selected students to explore careers in the medical field. Acceptance into the program is competitive and spots are limited. Applications are being accepted from March 12 – April 13, 2018 (this is the ONLY application period for the entire school year). Program fee will be due after acceptance into the program and before the student attends their first program session. The application is available in the counseling office or online at: https://www.sanfordhealth.org/about/academic‐affairs/career‐exploration (make sure to click on the Fargo information). AP Signup The sign up is now available in the counseling office for the AP exams in May. The cost is $94/per test payable to Shanley HS. ND Department of Public Instruction will cover the full exam fee for the student’s first qualifying exam (Science, Math, and English exams) and will cover 50% of the exam fees for the next 3 qualifying exams over the student’s high school career. For example: students who qualify for one exam fee will only pay the $9 (school exam fee). An exam at 50% off would pay $51.50. If needed, contact Mrs. Anderson to confirm the correct fee payment amount prior to sign up. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, March 14th. The AP exam schedule is as follows: Chemistry: Monday, May 7 (8am‐noon) Psychology: Monday, May 7 (12:30‐4pm) English Lit: Wednesday, May 9 (8am‐noon) US History: Friday, May 11 (8am‐noon) Biology: Monday, May 14 (8am‐noon) Calculus AB: Tuesday, May 15 (8am‐noon) European History: Friday, May 18 (noon‐4)
