Bidding Guide – How to Win at DealDashBidding Guide – How to Win at DealDash

StrategiesStrategies

Page 3: Dealdashtips

Andy the Aggressive

● Andy loves to scare his opponents off by outbidding everyone right after they place bids. He loves to intimidate other bidders and make them think that he has a never ending supply of bids. He wants to appear very determined, and that it is simply a matter of time until he wins.

● The easiest way to spot Andy is catching him when he bids right after other people.

Page 4: Dealdashtips

● PROS: Often discourages other bidders from bidding against him.

● CONS: Wastes lots of bids, thereby driving up his costs.

Page 5: Dealdashtips

Erin the Early-Bird

● Erin has noted that many deals end at an early stage. While some mistakenly believe that bidding in the early phases of an auction is a waste of bids, Erin knows this is one of the biggest DealDash myths and scores unbelievable bargains while others can't believe that a High Def TV went after only a few bids.

● You can spot Erin because she will bid continuously and early in auction featuring high value items.

Page 6: Dealdashtips

● PROS: Gets the best bargains on DealDash!● CONS: Wins fewer auctions than other bidders.

Will the Well Informed

● Will concentrates his bidding on the least busy bidding hours and picks the auctions he takes part in with care. In fact, he spends a lot of time going through the Winners page trying to find that extra edge, an easy-to-grab item or the best time to unleash his bids! Will also studies the bidding patterns of the bidders.

● You can spot Will if you see someone always active when the auctions aren't busy.

Page 8: Dealdashtips

● PROS: A good combination of conservative bidding and big wins!

● CONS: Can be difficult for many bidders and takes time to learn.

Page 9: Dealdashtips

Cindy the Conservative

● Cindy targets only items she really wants and is prepared to use the “Buy it Now” option. This way, she’ll never leave empty handed as she’ll just bid until she either wins or buys the item at retail and gets all her bids back for free.

● Cindy doesn't worry about using too many bids, so if you see a bidder using a lot of bids in one auction it's probably her.

Page 10: Dealdashtips

● PROS: Always gets what she wants and gets great value from her bid packs!

● CONS: Always prepared to pay full price for the items.

Page 11: Dealdashtips

Nick the Newbie

● Nick targets low profile items after purchasing his first, small Bid Pack. With his limited budget he goes after the smaller items to get comfortable with the bidding.

● If you notice someone winning lots of lower value items, it might be Nick!

● PROS: A great way to learn to win without wasting bids!

● CONS: Can't compete for big ticket items.

1. Information is your friend, so introduce yourself and get to know it better!

● Keep a pen and paper, or some other way of recording what happens handy.

● Pay attention to the stats, like how much items go for, what time of day you see more bids being placed, and any “big wins” that catch your eye.

● Compare these stats with your own strategy to find opportunities to improve.

Page 14: Dealdashtips

WINNING TIP: The winners list is a great place to find this kind of information quickly, so make sure you check it out!

WINNING TIP: Figure out the average price of items by checking them regularly. Don't just use one or two auctions as examples.

WINNING TIP: Check out win the limit list (you can get it by exchanging a single bid) to find out who wins big on the site.

Page 15: Dealdashtips

2. Don't “browse bid”● A lot of new bidders will place bids casually

while they're looking through auctions.● Unless you're planning on sticking with an

auction, don't place a bid.● If you want to keep track of an auction,

bookmark it instead of placing a bid (those single bids add up)!

Page 16: Dealdashtips

3. Beat the other bidders, not the clock● Placing last second bids seems like a good

idea, but it's easy to make a quick mistake and lose the auction.

● The clock won't stop until there's only one bidder standing, so your goal is to make sure you're that bidder!

● If you do want to make last second bids, make sure your BidBuddy has your back.

Page 17: Dealdashtips

4. Use sales, promotions, and other contests to subsidize your bids

● DealDash has bid pack sales every week offering HUGE DISCOUNTS on bids, so buy bids your bids at these reduced prices.

● Take advantage of reward programs like the Time as Highest Bidder counter to earn free bids!

Page 18: Dealdashtips

● Don't forget to check out DealDash on Facebook, Pinterest, and other social networking sites for even more ways to get free bids (and other great prizes)!

Page 19: Dealdashtips

5. budget, Budget, BUDGET● Bidding is recreational, so make sure you

decide how much you're willing to spend before you start.

● Decide how many bids you're willing to use in an auction and stick to that number.

Page 20: Dealdashtips

6. The BidBuddy is every bidder's best friend. Use it when...

● ...you're away from the computer.● ...you insist upon placing bids at the last

second.● ...you want to browse the Internet or multitask

while bidding.

Page 21: Dealdashtips

WINNING TIP: When an auction is down to you and one other bidder, put 20 or 30 bids in your BidBuddy. The other bidder might think you have thousands of bids ready to use and give up!

Page 22: Dealdashtips

WINNING TIP: If several players have BidBuddies in the same auction, they will bid in sequence (BidBuddy A will bid, BidBuddy B will bid, BidBuddy C will bid, then BidBuddy A again, then BidBuddy B, etc.). Cancel your BidBuddy if you see this happening, as these bids will be wasted until there is only one BidBuddy left.

Page 23: Dealdashtips

7. DealDash offers the Buy it now option so that everyone can win a great bargain

● Purchasing products using the “Buy it now” option is a great way to get bids back.

● Bidding on products you're willing to buy using this feature means you don't have to worry about the bids you use in the auction (you get them back when you buy the item).

WINNING TIP: If other bidders think you're going to buy the item win or lose, they'll avoid bidding against you to conserve their own bids.

Page 24: Dealdashtips

8. Most auctions are “No Jumper”™ auctions, which means that bidders cannot join the auction once the item reaches a certain price:

● If you want to participate in a “No Jumper”™ auction, place your first bid early on to make sure you can bid later.

● After placing your first bid, you can join in when you want. Wait until there are only a few bidders in the auction before joining back in!

Page 25: Dealdashtips

9. Know the products, and know the auctions

● The final sales price is decided by the bidders, so know what you're bidding on.

● Compare the item's current price with how much it goes for in other auctions to avoid wasting bids your bids.

● Don't bid on products just because you think they'll be easier to win. Bid on the stuff you really want!

Page 26: Dealdashtips

10. Remember that auctions are competitive by nature

● Naturally, some items are harder to win than others.

● If you're new or don't have a lot of bids to use, try winning some lower cost items.

● This will help you develop your own strategies and learn how to win.

Page 27: Dealdashtips

11. Everyone is looking at the same auctions, so pay attention to the things that other people might miss

● Don't bid on the first item at the top of the auction page, dig down a little bit to find the great products that impulsive bidders will miss!

Page 28: Dealdashtips

12. Stock up on bids before you start bidding

● Make sure you have enough bids in your account to finish when you start. Having your attention pulled away to re-stock your bid supply can cost you a lot more than having a few extras at the outset!

Page 29: Dealdashtips

13. Everyone at DealDash has the same information, including the advice in this guide

● Everyone has the information here, so be prepared to adapt!

● Don't be afraid to combine different strategies, mix up your tactics, and even invent your own, entirely unique approach!

● And don't be afraid to leave your own advice in the comments!
