Dear Praying Partners, n May, my dear friend Willi Slischewski invited me to speak at his church's two day family retreat. I spoke to his church family about the importance of unity - unity with God, the family, and in the church. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and activities. We are thankful for their encouragement to us as we serve together here in the state of Bavaria. As you think of us and our ministry, would you also add their church, the Freie Baptisten Gemeinde Eichstätt, to your prayer list as well? had another opportunity to speak in Jackson's school. Once a year, parents are invited to read a short book to students in various classes. This year, I read a book in Jackson's third grade class and three other classes. The book spoke about being special in the eyes of God, and I was delighted to hear much positive feedback from many of the students. he highlight of June was our second annual BBQ Fest that our church hosted, along with help from our sister church in Oberpfraundorf and the English speaking church, where my dad is the pastor. It was held in the parking lot in front of our church building. This year we served roughly 125 pounds of pulled pork to about 200 people from the community at no cost. The financial costs were greatly worth it since we clearly presented the Gospel through a short message that was given by Pastor Keith Klaus, through songs witha gospel message and through brochures, which we passed out to May-June 2017 every guest. We personally spoke with several families, one of which said they will definitely be coming to our church services. his year, we invited a few local businesses to sell their products, such as the cupcake shop located in our town The owner of the cupcake shop, Stefan, also owns a print shop, and we were able to get all our advertising for the BBQ Fest through him for a very low price. We have been able to develop a close relationship with him, in so much, that he considers us to be his friends! In the middle of organizing everything for the BBQ Fest, Stefan told me that we was amazed how happy we were, even though things were very stressful. He said that most of the people he knows are too serious when things are stressful, but we are always happy. I gave him a little secret, which he accepted appreciatively... we have overflowing joy because Christ has changed our lives. He also remarked that his customers are very rude to him even when he doing his best to help them with their print needs. He commented that we are not like that. He asked why people are so rude today. I gave him another secret... I I T T SENT BY: Temple Baptist Church, Dr. Clarence Sexton, Pastor, P.O. I t is a s in problem. I expla ined that Jesus gave His whole l i fe for people because He loved

them, and people

responded to that love by nai l ing Him to a

cross. Please

pray that the Lord wi l l use these words to draw Stefan to Himself .

o lomon said in Proverbs 27:17, " I ron sharpeneth i ron; so a man sharpeneth the

countenance of h is f r iend." The last couple of weeks we have had our i ron sharpened by some of our dear f r iends.

Stephen and Jocelyn Troel l , a long with their three gir ls , have been vis i t ing us for the last couple of weeks. They were a tremendous help dur ing our BBQ Fest! Because of Stephen's love for I ta l ian gelato, we have spent much t ime at our local , family owned gelato shop. We have gotten to know the employees very wel l , so much so that the owner at tended our BBQ

Fest! Our co-workers, Todd and Kim Lapato were able to ta lk to the the owner and his family s ince our BBQ Fest, and they have been able to share the Gospel with them.

e were also encouraged by the vis i t of Jonathan and Natal ie VandenHurk.

Jonathan is the pastor of Calvary Bapt ist Church in Peterborough, England.

Jonathan and I were students together at Crown Col lege and he and his wife have been serving the Lord in England s ince 2013.

They were having "hol iday" in Germany and wanted to spend t ime with us. I gave them and the Troel l family an unprofessional guided tour of Regensburg, and we had such a great t ime together! We even ate bratwurst in the famous Bratwurst Ki tchen that has been there s ince the 1100's.

une 3rd was our 12th wedding anniversary. My wife deserves a specia l crown in Heaven

for putt ing up with me for so long. Thanks go out to a l l those that sent congratulatory cards!
