Aledo 4-H Competition Results

The Aledo Foods & Nutrition Project took five 4-H’ers to the District Food Show held in Vernon on Nov. 5th. They were Daeleigh Patridge in Junior Fruits & Vegetables, Katherine Zimmer in Junior Breads and Cereals, Brittany Stevens in Junior Nutritious Snacks, Kelly Marshall in Intermediate Desserts and Sarah Coomer in Intermediate Breads and Cereals. Kelly took 2nd in her category and Daeleigh took 5th in hers. Congratulations to all!

Aledo 4-H and Clover Cat Kids

By: Katherine Zimmer

A big thanks to Faith Presbyterian Church of Aledo for our new meeting location. MacKenzie Daniels gave a very informative presentation on “What Community Service Is and Our Role in Community Service Projects.” Mandy Sale talked about how much fun she had at the Burton Hill Farm Day. Many of our members worked on Parliamentary Procedure as they learned how to make a motion, or second a motion. Our officers and Christmas Party Committee have planned a fun Christmas party, so bring a big appetite and a $10 gift card for the gift card exchange. Mrs. Van Hoozer will resume the horse project club in the spring. December Meeting Clover Kids: 5-5:30 pm Meeting and Dinner: 6 pm

Parker County Vet Science

The Parker County Vet Science group has been invited to work

piglets at Blazin’ 7 Farm in December. We will be notching ears,

clipping tails, pulling teeth, castrating and vaccinating the piglets

born the first week of December. Come prepared to work wear

either old boots or muck boots with jeans and a shirt that you’re not

afraid to get dirty. Due to the extended length of this meeting it will

count for two lessons. Please take the time to research how to read

ear notches, how and why piglet teeth are pulled, why and how

piglet tails are clipped, how to read ear notches, proper restraint

technique for castration, and required vaccinations. This is a

working lesson and you will be required to

have some knowledge.

SPRING CREEK 4-H

By: Sage Boleman

The Spring Creek 4-H November meeting was our annual Bake/Craft Auction. Thanks so much to everyone who brought baked and homemade items. We had a great time with the help of our wonderful auctioneer, Bradley O’Leery. The fundraiser was a big success and will support our projects and activities for the whole year!

Members and officers will be shopping for our 2 Christmas Angels at our annual Adopt-An Angel shopping spree on December 6th at 6pm at the Wal-Mart in Hudson Oaks. Please mark this date on your calendar....it is an exciting time of shopping and fun!

The next meeting will be held on December 14th at 7pm at Spring Creek Baptist Church. Officers need to arrive at 6pm for set-up and the officer meeting. This meeting will be our Christmas Party and Gift Exchange. All members need to bring a gift that costs $10 or less and is appropriate for either a boy or a girl.

Happy Holidays!
