A Message From Your President Thank you to each and every one of you who volunteer your time this busy season. Thank you to those who decorated a snowman or paid someone to decorate a snowman for the Tour of Snowmen. Thank you to those who created or paid someone to create an entry for the Holiday of Lights Parade. Thank you for those talented musicians who played music after the Holiday of Lights Parade. Thank you to those who voted in the Tour of Snowmen, attended the Holiday of Lights Parade and voted for the best parade entry. We all have to work together to make these special events happen in Valley City. Please patronize our Valley City Chamber Members. Shop in our local stores before shopping out of town or on the internet. You might be surprised at what you can find local. Still having trouble finding something? Gift cards to local Chamber Members make a great gift. Not sure which Chamber Member to buy a gift card from? Chamber bucks are what you need!!! It is better to give than to receive. Use your manners. Say please and thank you. Be on your best behavior. All phrases that many of us heard many times growing up; especially during the holiday season. Many of us still tell our children these things quite often; but do we practice what we preach? This month tends to get very busy…special events to attend and holidays to prepare for. Am I using my manners and am I on my best behavior? Take the time to be kind. Random acts of kindness, doing good deeds, whatever you label it; it is good for the soul. Why do we do it? Because it’s the right thing to do? Because it benefits someone else? Because I like the feeling it gives me to help make a difference in someone’s life? My challenge to you…whatever your reason, make it a kind holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! (Please insert the holiday that you celebrate here)

A Message From Your EVP
Thank you to all of your who participated in Ladies’ Day and Small Business Saturday this past month. Despite the weather, there was a tremendous turnout for both events. A special thank you to Tuya Dutton, owner of Noos Shop Nomadic Boutique, for her lead in organizing Small Business Saturday. We appreciated the participation and feedback from so many of our members for this event! The Annual Parade of Lights Downtown Event was held on November 29th. The parade was a huge success once again this year thanks to the participation of so many businesses and community groups. Thank you as well to all the businesses who participated in the Tour of Snowmen, we sure have a lot of creative Chamber Members! Be sure to check out the winners from both on page 7. The Chamber Annual Meeting will be held Thursday, January 17th, at the Town & Country Club at 6pm. Enjoy soup and sandwiches and an opportunity to meet with your fellow Chamber Members to discuss ideas, concerns, and strengthen business relationships. For more information, please check out the event page on our Facebook. I encourage you to take a moment to read through the list of renewing members this month. We are so grateful to have such an abundance of wonderful members! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas from your Chamber of Commerce Staff! Kay Vinje, Executive Vice President
