Children’s Choir Christmas Program

The VPC Children's Choir will present The Inn Crowd, during the 10:30 a.m. service on December 24. The infamous census of the ages has made Bethlehem a busy and crowded spot, and there are some guests at a local inn who aren't very happy about it. The rich and important guests make it clear that they want no part of the "lower class" staying at the inn. By the end of the musical, we all learn that Jesus came for everyone, and that because of Him, we're all definitely "in" God's Kingdom.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 25 Noon – 2 p.m.

Monday, VPC will host its annual Community Christ-mas Dinner. From noon - 2:00 p.m., a buffet meal will be served. All are invited to dinner! But there's so much more we're offering. In addition to serving dinner, VPC volunteers will box and deliver meals to Woodford County shut-ins, emergency workers, hospital staff and the Hope

Lodge. That's where you can help. We need folks to provide side dishes and des-serts, box and deliver meals, set up and clean up Fellowship Hall and serve as hosts to our walk-in guests. You'll discover that helping out will be a high point of your Christmas Day! Sign up sheets are in the Welcome Center until noon Sunday.

Dear VPC,

Thank you for the generous Christmas gift. I really appre-ciate it. God bless and Merry Christmas! Mona Phelps

Dear VPC Friends,

Thank you so much for the sweet note and thoughtful Christmas gift. I appreciate all of your kindness over the years. Merry Christmas! Love, Emily Crain

VPC,

Thank you all so much for the Christmas gifts. VPC is a very thoughtful and generous church! Thanks for Greg’s get well card, but most of all, your prayers!

Thank you, Greg & Juanita Noel

All contributions for 2017 must be received by the church or postmarked by 12/31/17! If you gift shares of stock to charity, you must act by year-end. By gifting long-term appreciated

stock, you can qualify for a potential income tax deduction--or by selling stock that has lost value and donating the proceeds, you can realize a loss to offset other gains.

If any VPC parishioners have required minimum distributions this year and would like to exclude all or a portion from federal taxes, a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) made by the trustee of the tradi-tional IRA directly to the church may allow for the exclusion. Please seek advice from a tax profession-al before making any plans for retirement distributions.

Reminder to VPC committees: all 2017 receipts are due in the office by Wednesday, January 3, 2018, to be included in 2017 expenses

Please contact Rick Coffey, Finance Chair, with any questions.

Celebrate an anniversary, a birthday, or honor a loved one by providing Sanctuary Flowers. It's easy to do:

• Indicate which Sunday you want on the flower calendar in the Wel-come Center

• Call the Flower Basket* across the street from the church to order flowers: 873-7839

• A lovely arrangement costs $40-$50; order by Wednesday of the week you want them

• The Flower Basket delivers your arrangement to the Sanctuary

• Flowers may be taken home after the late ser-vice to be enjoyed by your family

• Please note that some Sundays may not be available due to liturgical considerations or seasonal themes

*You may of course call the florist of your choice or pro-vide flowers from your garden! Flowers must be deliv-ered on Friday during church hours.

New Elder Installation Mark your calendars—New elders will be installed dur-ing the 10:45 service on January 22.

Mark Your Calendars! Our annual meeting is scheduled for Sunday,

January 28, at 9:30 a.m.

Parking for Christmas Eve Service Versailles Baptist is having their Christmas

Eve service at 5:00 PM this evening and we will have a service at 5:30 PM. We have spoken with VBC and in order to assure that our lot is availa-ble for those attending our service, we will be roping off our parking lot until shortly after 5:00 PM. We will have someone in the lot prior to 5:00 PM so if you arrive early, you will be able to enter our lot and park. We apologize for any in-convenience.

Martha Ministers are our church volunteers that comfort those in need with meals, funeral receptions, transportation for doctor vis-its, and general contacts. If you know of any of our church members in need of services provided by Martha Ministers, please contact Jerri Jo Tackett, (859.230.5238), [email protected], Martha Minis-ters coordinator, to coordi-nate services. If Martha Ministers is an area you would like to serve, (you like to cook, you like to visit with others, you like to drive, you like to be involved) please contact Jerri Jo, we can always use volunteers.
