    Classes / Edit class

    command

Use the Name field to type the ID (4 characters),

which is the only essential information here. Onceclasses exist, may be listed using the combobox.

The Description allows to add a 28 character shortdescription.

The 2D Library allows to select the symbol library

which contains the 2D Symbol from

The Large Description allows to include anextended explanation about any interesting aspectof the class.

Task 1.1.1 DEFIN. Add mechanical attributes to equipment classes sheet 2-2

    Classes / Edit class

    command

Type the CODE for the attribute starting with the

following characters, depending on which value willtake the attribute:

    Rfor a REAL number

    I for an INTEGER number

    A for any alphanumeric string

Then add the DESCRIPTION for the attribute andfinally set the UNITS in which is measured, if any. This UNITS will be displayed on the equipment tablein the PIGRAM module.

Notice that there are no values, since they are notstill referred to any particular equipmentcomponent.

The values for the attributes are defined with the

    equipment components in Task 1.2.2

    Components / Equipment

    command

Select the Class in which toadd the components by clicking the mid

button of the mouse.Use the Component identificationfield to type the ID (14 characters),which is the only essential informationhere.

The Description allows to add a 40character short description.

The Component data area containsadditional information about supplier, weight, stock code, ...

Local centre of gravity is referredto the local origin of coordinates ofthe 3D model used for itsrepresentation.

    Components / Equipment

    command

Decide whether the geometricrepresentation of the component will

come from a model in a libraryor from a geometric macro file.

In case it is a model , clickthe Change button to open the libraryand model selector.

If it is a geometric macro file, do thesame to open the macro file browser.

Task 1.2.2 DEFIN. Assign values to mechanical attributes sheet 3-3

    Components / Equipment

    command

Type the values for the attributes, coming from Task 1.1.1

Task 1.3 DEFIN. Fill up the technological attributes tables sheet 1-1

    Tables / Edit system tables

    command

    Tables 1, 2, 17, 19 and 20 are not editable.

The rest of them come initially empty and must be

completed either manually or by importing fromanother project.

The technological attributes are used later for thematerial specifications and the fittingcomponents

    IMPORTANT:

The codes can not be sorted nor moved oncetyped in the tables. Therefore, it is worth to foreseeall the needed codes and consider how to arrangethem in the table before start typing.

A good practice consist on to reserve gapsbetween different groups of codes, to be used incase that a new code arises once the project hasstarted, rather than to add it at the end of the

table.Table 10 should contain, at least, the same codesthat tables 9 and 14.

Table 16 to group the elbows by their classes inorder to define families based on their R/D ratio. The FPIPE module offers the elbows grouped in thisfamilies when using them in the 3D model.

Task 1.4 DEFIN. Define the pipe norms sheet 1-1

Norms / Edit pipe standard norm

    command

Use the Norm field to type the ID (12characters), which is the only essentialinformation here. Once the norms exist,

they may be listed by clicking the smallarrow in the combobox.

A description in up to 40 characterscould be added.

The Density and the Revision fieldsare not really essential, since the weightof the pipes is declared as part of thepipe components information.

Use the NOMD column to include theneeded nominal diameters from Table 1and the OUTD to enter theircorresponding outside diameter.

In the same line it can be added all theneeded pipe schedules by clicking the

mid button (from Table 5 ).

The corresponding wall thickness can betyped in the next columns.

Save to keep on adding, OKto leave thecommand.

    Classes / Edit class

    command

Click the mid button over Type to select the rightkind of fitting. The groups are fix.

Use the Name field to type the ID (4 characters),

which is the only essential information here. Oncethe group/classes exist, they may be listed byclicking the small arrow in the combobox.

The Description allows to add a 28 character shortdescription.

The 2D Library allows to select the symbol librarywhich contains the 2D Symbol from

The Large Description allows to include anextended explanation about any interesting aspectof the class.

The Isometric symbol is used to select thesymbol for iso and spool sketches. For this selectionall available sketches in the Isometric Format(F_ISOsymb.std) are offered.

Tick the Components with 3D parametricobject for the common fittings, as they will have

Task 1.6 DEFIN. Define the fitting components sheet 2-2

    Components / Fittings / Editcommand

Click the mid button over the markedfields to complete with data coming fromtechnological attributes tables

Depending on the type of fitting, thedifferent technological attributes are inuse or deactivated.

The rest of the fields expect entries fromthe keyboard.

Like the equipment components, thefittings allow a 3D geometry based onpredefined parametric objects or on

geometric macro files. In both cases, certain parameters must be filled up.

Main and second socket lengthexpress the distance the pipe should runinside the fitting in each end if any:default 0mm.

Task 1.7 DEFIN. Define the material specifications(matspecs)

    sheet 1-2

    Materials / Edit material specificationcommand

Type the Name of the new matspec orclick on the combobox arrow to select analready existing one.

headline data is needed to specify thepipe standard in use for thematspec (just one).

Nominal diameters will contain thecomplete list (not ranges) of diametersallowed for pipes and fittings. They couldbe defined using all the selected pipe

standard norm by pressing the ND fromNorm button.

Task 1.7 DEFIN. Define the material specifications(matspecs)

    sheet 1-2

    Materials / Edit material specificationcommand

Select each one of the fitting classesfrom the menu below and add all thecomponents that will be used in theedited matspec, with their appropriate

    characteristics and available nominaldiameter range.

In each case the different technologicalattributes displayed will be theappropriate ones for the selected class.

Middle click on each field will display alist to select among the available types.

The DETD field allows to define differentcomponents in the same class but somedifferences in their other features. Insuch a case, this field should be filledusing a special syntax code, the sharp(#) character followed by a sequentialnumber to distinguish between thesimilar components (i.g. #1, #2 .)

Associated Norm is used to type a briefdescription of the componentdimensioning norm.

The Description allows to add a 40character short description.

The Long Description allows to includean extended explanation about anyinteresting aspect of the zone.

The Zone Limits will represent the twopoint coordinates which define areference box with the limits of this zone
