Moral degradation of youth is an important problem of emerging India . Morality helps one to present morally acceptable behavior which is really needed in our society. Youth power is the

driving force of a nation if it moves in the right way. But now a days, youth aren’t able to do that thing being diverted though different immortal activities. For that , not only present Indian society

being influenced , but also the future generation of our civilization being stimulated.So, it is our main duty as a citizen of a developing country to find out proper tricks by which this

crucial problem is going to solve. Then only we can establish our country in the world of peace and harmony.

WHAT IS MORAL VALUES IN THIS ADVANCEMENT OF AGE

'Moral' is a word which is just limited to the moral books of some primary classes. It is no

longer a valid word for an Indian mind too, just as it has

lost its meaning in the western world.

In schools, students proudly admit that they smoke or have indulged in some sort of bad activity. They forget their ethical values and duties towards society and the nation. Morals and values are just

the past. It’s depressing to see the newspaper early in the morning to witness various murder and rape cases. The main cause for the rise of such uncivilized grounds of terror and hatred is just the result of inappropriate educational values right from the childhood and nil importance to human

values which need to be imbibed to the student at an early level. The increasing practice of doing everything just for the sake of money has killed the minute pieces of kindness making them dormant

forever. One seeing today's India can never wholeheartedly admit this was birth place of great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru and never believe this was where Mother Teresa did

miracles in helping the poor and disabled and now can we ever even imagine of such personalities to be born again!

SCHOOL STUDENTS START SMOKING IN

VERY YOUNGER AGE.

IN THE AGE OF GOING SCHOOL, CHILDRENS ARE ENROLLING IN NAXALISMS

Where do we get our moral values? our homes, school, society, friends, TV, temples music, books, families,

culture, employers, time-period in which

you were raised (70’s anti-establishment, peace, individuality. 80’s money, prestige, don’t get caught, etc. 90’s earth, green peace, health and fitness), etc.

FEW FACTORS EFFECTING THE MORAL VALUES SYSTEM OF YOUNG PERSON CAN BE :-

Mass media influence

Undoubtedly TV, print media, internet blogs and websites, cinemas, role models (movieactors) play an important role in honing and shaping the personality of the youth. Manymedia images, movies and games that not only neutralize violence but often glorify it.There is so much violence, vulgarity in all these entertainment avenues and if a majorityof youth watches these, the impact of the same on the next generation can’t be positive.

ATTRACTION OF CHANGEAdvent of modernization has spread over the younger generation of the society.Consequently our youth have disassociated themselves from their own identity, traditionand cultural heritage.

DISCRIMINATION BETWEEN BOYS AND GIRLS

Double standards of morality set by society are also the cause of degeneration of moralsamong youth such as going to market alone, laughing in public places etc. are considereddisgraceful for girls but these does not equally apply to boys. It gives an unfair advantagesto them that they are superior ones.

DESIRE OF SELF EXHIBITIONAdolescence is a time period when youth begin to analyze issues, develop view points,rationalize, question the status quo, rebel and struggle to develop a personality of their own. Desire of self exhibition often takes a youth towards crime and immoral behaviorlike smoking, drinking, delivering abusing words, quarreling, sex abuse etc

DIRTY POLICIESMost of the political parties have a tendency to capture youth to strengthen anddeveloped their structure. All the political parties have been fulfilling their own interestby involving them into different movements with the assurance of employment andnumerous greed and promises. Being inspired by those, the youth is being adverselyaffected and the society is being polluted by an unstable situation.

THE IMPORTANCE OF MORAL VALUES

01.VALUES COULD GUIDE OUR LIFE MINUTE BY MINUTE TOWARDS NOVEL GOALS.RATHER THAN YOUR BEING CONTROLLED BY SELF SERVING MOTIVES , CUSTOMS, ACCIEDNTAL OCCURRENCES,BAD HABITS, IMPULSES, OR EMOTIONS. WE HAVE TO KNOW WHERE WE ARE GOING BEFORE WE CAN GET THERE.

02.VALUES AND MORALS CAN NOT ONLY GUIDE BUT ALSO INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE US, GIVING US ENERGY AND A ZEST FOR LIVING AND FOR LIVING AND FOR DOING SOMETHING MEANINGFUL.

03.SENSITIVITY TO A FAILURE TO LIVE UP TO OUR BASIC VALUES MAY LEADTO UNPRODUCTIVE GUILT OR TO CONSTRUCTIVE SELF DISSATISFACTION WHICH MOTIVATES US TO IMPROVE.

04. HIGH VALUES AND SUCCESS MEETING THOSE GOALS ARE NECCERRAY FOR HIGH SELF ESTEEM.

05.PROFESSED BUT UNUSED VALUES ARE WORTHLESS OR WORSE. BUT WE MUSTBE HONEST WITH OURSELVES , RECOGNISING THE DIFFRENCE BETWEEN PRETENDED VALUES AND OPERATIONAL VALUES.

Value Education Means Inculcating In The Children Sense Humanism, A Deep Concern For The Well Being Of Others And The Nation. This Can Be Accomplished Only When We Instill In The Children A Deep Feeling Of Commitment To Values That Would Build This Country And Bring Back To The People Pride In Work That Brings Order, Security And Assured Progress.REMEMBER THE “CHINESE PROVERB”. "IF THERE IS RIGHTEOUSNESS IN THE HEART, THERE WILL BE BEAUTY IN CHARACTER, IF THERE IS BEAUTY IN CHARACTER, THERE WILL BE HARMONY IN THE HOME, WHEN THERE IS HARMONY IN THE HOME, THERE WILL BE ORDER IN THE NATION, WHEN THERE IS ORDER IN THE NATION THERE WILL BE PEACE IN THE WORLD".

LAST BUT NOT LEAST WE MUST LOVE OUR OWN VALUES IN LIFE, TO BUILD A STRONG CHARACTER. IT WILL HELP US TO LEAD OUR LIFE AS IT SHOULD BE LEAD. IT IS VERY NECESSARY FOR THE FULFILLMENT OF LIFE’S PURPOSE.

IT STUNTS DEVELOPMENT OF COUNTRY.3. THE CREATIVE MIND OF YOUTH DIVERTED TOWARDS UNSOCIAL ACTIVITIES SUCH AS SMOKING INPUBLIC PLACE, MISBEHAVING IN CLASS, DRUG ADDICTION, MISCONDUCT IN THE HOUSEHOLD ANDJUVENILE DELINQUENCY TO NAME OF FEW.4. SOCIAL VALUES ARE UPROOTED BY COMMENCING ANTISOCIAL ACTIVITIES SO REGIONAL MOVEMENT, CONFLICT, BIAS, ENMITY ETC. TAKE LEADING ROLE OVER ALL DOWN FALL OF THE SOCIETY.5. THE ALARMING PERCENTAGE OF CRIMINALITY AND ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOR INCREASE IN INDIA WITH THE CHANGE IN SOCIAL STRUCTURE AND INDIVIDUAL MOTIVES.6. INVENTION OF NEW MODES OF SCAM AND FRAUDS ARE BEING EMERGED WHICH DENOTES THATYOUTH ARE TENDING TO GET MORE INTERESTED INTO EASY WAY OF ATTENING WEALTH, POWER AND FAME ETC. GIVING LEAST CONSIDERATION TO HUMAN VALUES.

DEGRADATION OF MORAL VALUES WITH THE AGE ADVANCEMENT IN INDIA FROM THE RECENT YEAR’S :- CORRUPTION( in the nerves of country).

SCAMS( 2g ,colgate ,common wealth games scams etc etc )

COMMUNAL RIOTS (gujrat riots, Kanpur riots, mujjafarnagar riots, mau riots)

NON-COMMUNAL RIOTS(riots in andhara Pradesh ,north eastern and bundelkhand part for division of respective states)

HUMAN RESOURCES LOSES

WOMAN INSECURITY (rapes etc)

REMEDIES TO REDUCE THE MORAL VALUES LOSS :-

1.THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD LEGISLATE AGAINST MEDIA OPERATORS WHO PUBLISH INDECENT ACTION IN THEIR PUBLICATION. THIS IS TO ENSURE THAT ONLY APPROPRIATE TYPE OF BROADCASTING WILL BE TELEVISED AND EVENTUALLY REDUCES THE STRESS OF MORAL DECAY.2. IT STUNTS DEVELOPMENT OF COUNTRY3. THE CREATIVE MIND OF YOUTH DIVERTED TOWARDS UNSOCIAL ACTIVITIES SUCH AS SMOKING IN PUBLIC PLACE, MISBEHAVING IN CLASS, DRUG ADDICTION, MISCONDUCT IN THE HOUSEHOLD AND JUVENILE DELINQUENCY TO NAME OF FEW.4. SOCIAL VALUES ARE UPROOTED BY COMMENCING ANTISOCIAL ACTIVITIES SO REGIONAL MOVEMENT,CONFLICT, BIAS, ENMITY ETC. TAKE LEADING ROLE OVER ALL DOWN FALL OF THE SOCIETY.5. CONCLUSION THERE IS A CONSIDERABLE SHIFT IN THE INDIAN SOCIETY WITH REGARD TO THE MORAL VALUES. TODAY YOUTHS ARE IN A GREAT DILEMMA; THEY FACE ENORMOUS CHALLENGES. TODAY, THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THEY USE TO BE IN TERMS OF DISCIPLINE, RESPECT FOR ELDERS AND CONSTITUTED AUTHORITY, HUMILITY, HARD WORK, HONESTY, FAITHFULNESS AND LOVE FOR OTHERS. MORALITY IS THE MOST DETERRING FACTOR OF CRIME, ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOR, TERRORISM, ASSAULT, CYBER CRIME, CORRUPTION ETC. IT IS IMPERATIVE TO REALIZE THE POTENTIAL PERPETUATING THREAT OF DECREASE OF MORALITY IN THE SOCIETY MORAL ORIENTATION OF YOUTHS NEEDS TO BE STRENGTHENED TO BUILD UP A MORAL AND HARMONIOUS SOCIETY. IT IS VERY MUCH REQUIRED TO MAKE AND IMPLEMENT SOME CONSTRUCTIVE APPROACHES FOR THE YOUTH ON WHICH THE COUNTRY'S PRESENT AND FUTURE DEPENDS; OTHERWISE IT WILL BE TOO DIFFICULT TO MAKE A POSITIVE AND HARMONIC ATMOSPHERE OF MORTALITY ANDHUMANITY.
