The feature race on Friday, the G3 Rancho Bernardo Stakes comes up compe;;ve with the field of eight fillies and mares. The “YELLOW” PlotFit is combined with the “Fire” Conten0on however a lower SpeedRate which is showing the en;re field under the Par Line and will take some sor;ng out with Op0xGRID/NOTES to fill in the handicapping gaps. Both #3 MOTHER OF DRAGONS and #4 ARTISTIC DIVA should run true-to-Plot based on the lack of SpeedRate and their shared posi;on in Quad I. As Circles they would need to use their speed early on to be effec;ve in this race, yet s;ll have the lack of finish even under what does not expect to be a wicked fast duel. #7 MUCHO AMOR could also join in that flight based on her Surface/Distance posi;on and should be ridden accordingly to have any chance compared to the Quad IV Standard Circle trip. #5 SNEAKING OUT looks in posi;on to find a favorable trip under these condi;ons tracking from Quad I as a Standard Square, which should allow for her to get first run on the paceseKers as well as her other rivals. She brings a solid level of Class coming off the B+ Op0xGRADE in the G2 Great Lady M Stakes defea;ng a proven stakes runner in Bellafina that aOernoon. #6 AMUSE also exits the G2 Great Lady M Stakes and is an interes0ng player coming back in this spot. The case was made for her that aOernoon making her second start off the layoff and in a favorable “turf-to-dirt” move that aOernoon. The June 14 th race did serve as a useful prep no;ng the improvement in Op0xFIG and even Grade - both efforts were designated B- however no;ng the change in class from allowance to graded stakes. The same “turf-to-dirt” angle is in play here again and has upside from the trip (TACTIC-) on July 24 th that could easily see her move forward this aOernoon and should present value in this spot. #2 INTO CHOCOLATE has shown a posi;ve progression this season as well as connec;ons s;cking with the one turn distance. She will have another opportunity to run at the graded stakes level (B- Op0xGRADE last year in the mile G3 Torrey Pines) coming off a solid allowance win last month at Belmont Park. She has shown to be handy/tac;cal to create the necessary trip keying off that July 12 th race when also ploWng in Quad IV. Cedillo seems a good fit for her on that front in terms of working a trip and should be tracking that Quad I conten;on, more like a Quad III type trip where she is almost leaning towards on Standard. The Quad IV posi;on for #1 GINGHAM and #8 UNIQUE FACTOR is observed as both runners are oOen Quad I/II types. GINGHAM is coming off the win in the Angel Flight Stakes earning her top Op0xFIG that day, also no;ng a suspect five horse field for the level.
