About LIPSLean in the Public Sector (LIPS) is an interna-onal forum whereprac--oners share lessons learned during lean transforma-on inpublic sector and non-profit organiza-ons. Content that educates,informs, and inspires Lean Construc-on, Lean Government, LeanService and Lean Enterprise will always be the primary focus ofLean in Public Sector.

Founded in 2007, the aim of Lean in Public Sector (LIPS) is toexpand Lean Project Management and knowledge to the globalpublic sector throughout the world. LIPS have laid the founda-onfor the establishment of Lean ini-a-ves, thinking andtransforma-on across many countries and their annualconferences have taken place across the USA, Europe, Australia,Asia and La-n America.

New principles, methods and prac-ces for project delivery andmanagement specifically tailored to the public sector areconstantly being designed, developed and tested by the LIPScommunity and the output is showcased and reported inconference proceedings every year.

The goal of the Lean in Public Sector International Conference is to better meet thepublics demands and dramatically improve the process of Government as well asencouraging the development of people through the introduction of Lean. To achievethis, the LIPS Community are developing new principles and methods of Leanefficiencies which will be shared, discussed and debated at this years Lean in PublicSector Conference taking place in Dublin, Ireland.

Lean in Public Sector (LIPS) organise an annual conference, held in various parts of theworld, offering a unique opportunity for sharing, debating, and celebrating experienceson Lean in the public sector from all over the Globe.

This unique International Public Sector event will take place over 4 days in 2019 andwill be held in Dublin, Ireland:

Lean in Public Sector Annual InternaHonal Conference

3rd - 6th December 2019, Dublin Ireland

Founded in 2007, Lean in Public Sector (www.leaninpublicsector.org) is an interna-onal network of researchers from prac-ce and academia in government; educa-on, healthcare, transport, and u-li-es who encourage the prac-ce, educa-on, and research of Lean principles within the world public sector in order to respond to the global challenges ahead.

The goal of LIPS is to beUer meet customer (public) demands and drama-cally improve the process of governing, as well as con-nuously improving the product. To achieve this, Lean in Public Sector are developing new principles and methods for product development and process management specifically tailored to the public sector, but akin to those defining lean leadership that proved to be so successful in manufacturing.

The dis-nguishing trait of this Group is its emphasis on theory and the applica-on of that theory in World Government.

Annually the LIPS community gather at a large 4-day conference and the loca-ons rotate amongst the Con-nents of the world. In 2019 the LIPS Interna-onal Conference will come to Europe, specifically Dublin, Ireland and promises to be the most forward thinking event on the Interna-onal calendar for that year.Hosted over a 4-day period the 2019 event will incorporate Workshop Day, Conference and Gemba Day. Plus many social ac-vi-es designed to provide our interna-onal aUendees with a taste of the “Green Isle”.

The Lean in Public Sector Steering Committee says:

“Applying lean thinking and lean production to the public sector will provide value for the government, companies, public and partners alike. In addition Lean in Public Sector aims to improve efficiency with a resultant increase in the profitability of the supply chain through a focus on eliminating waste and improving the reliability of planning and work flow. With this aim in mind- The LIPS 2019 conference will bring together case examples from around the world.”

In an effort to make this event the most relevant and dedicated lean conference, we would ask that all par-cipants follow the below criteria. This will result in a symposium that will provide all involved with an event which will inspire con-nuous improvement and deliver an innova-ve learning plaform for Interna-onal Government and Public Sector within Ireland.
