• Continuing with the positive trend the GDP growth forecast for 2013 is
estimated at 7.5%.
• Sri Lanka recorded the highest ever inflow of Foreign Direct
Investment for a year in 2012, amounting to US $ 1,338 million.
• Tourism sector witnessing significant growth in tourist numbers.
• Infrastructure development projects headed by telecommunication and
tourism sector accounted for significant amount of the total investment
flow.
• The gross official reserve position as at the end of March 2013 stood
at USD 6,690 million.
