WHO WE ARE

Nearly 2,000 students part icipate in over 40

competit ive, instructional , and recreational

teams that comprise FSU Sport Clubs. The

list includes numerous team sports for

men and women along with several

martial arts groups. Sport Clubs

are over 90% self- funded and

most compete on a

regional and

national

level .

SPORT CLUBS

FSU offers one of the most comprehensive fitness

and wellness programs in the country. The program

offers over 100 group fitness classes every week,

personal and small group training, healthy cooking

classes, grocery store tours and daily vitals

assessments ranging from one-minute body

composit ions to VO2 Max, POLAR, and Blood

Glucose Testing.

FITNESS & WELLNESS

Outdoor Pursuits (OP) is Campus Recreation’s outdoor

adventure program. The program’s headquarters is located

at the FSU Reservation. OP offers three main services: adventure

expedit ions, gear rentals, and outdoor resources. OP travels al l over

the country on weekly tr ips and is avai lable to FSU students, faculty, and staff .

Representing one of the largest intramural programs in the

country, FSU IM Sports annually records over 10,000 unique

participants. Some of the most popular sports are flag football ,

soccer, softbal l , and basketball . Almost every sport is offered free

of charge. In addit ion to “tradit ional” sports, the IM Sports

programs also features unique activit ies such as wallyball ,

Batt leship, ugly pants disc golf , and an annual fishing tournament.

INTRAMURAL SPORTS

AQUATICS

The Aquatics program is widely recognized by the 16-lane lap pool

at Leach Recreation Center, but i ts reach extends far beyond to

the FSU Reservation waterfront. The l i feguard staff provides

health & safety instruction, including CPR/AED, First Aid

and l i feguard training. Aquatics also sponsors

semesterly SCUBA cert ification classes, adult

& chi ld swim lessons, the 100-mile

Swim Club, and sport clubs.

The Bobby E. Leach Student Recreation Center is a 120,000 square foot fitness facility locat-

ed right in the heart of campus. Users are required to present current, valid FSUCard to

access the facility. Leach Center features strength & cardio equipment, sport courts and an

indoor track, a 16-lane 25 yard pool, olympic lifting platforms, a spinning studio and

amenities for people of every fitness level.

Cardio & Strength Equipment

Want to get a good cardiovascular workout? We have nearly 100 cardiovascular machines

including treadmills, stairclimbers, ellipticals, bikes, and rowers. Hit the weights with pieces

from Hammer Strength, Cybex, LifeFitness, FreeMotion, and more!

Sport Courts & Indoor Track

Three regulation sized basketball courts, two racquetball courts, and 2 squash courts are

available in the Leach Center. Our indoor track, located on the 2nd floor, surrounds the

Leach Pool.

Leach Pool & Spa

The Leach Pool is a 16-lane by 25-yard indoor swimming facility with two 1-meter and two

3-meter diving boards. A complete spa area is located just off the pool deck and is equipped

with two whirlpools, two steam rooms, and a sauna.

Campus Recreation's newest facility, the Fitness & Movement Clinic (FMC) is located

inside the University's Health & Wellness Center. Opened in 2012, the FMC offers

more than 12,000 square feet of space for strength and cardio training and also

encompasses a private studio for small group training classes and space for

wellness testing and consultation.

The FMC has new state-of-the-art equipment designed to maximize the

effectiveness of your workout.

The majority of cardio machines at the FMC include screens complete with access to

select cable TV channels and the Internet.

Located on FSU’s Southwest Campus, the Rec Sports-

Plex (RSP) is a 104-acre facility that encompasses 21

sports fields and additional activity spaces. Among the

21 fields are 12 multipurpose fields for IM Sports, 4

tournament fields for sport clubs, and 5 softball

diamonds.

In addition to the RSP, Campus Rec also operates the

Main Campus Fields (MCF), Tully Gymnasium, and the

Westside Courts. The MCF comprise 13 acres and

encompass 4 sports fields. Tully Gym is shared between

Campus Rec and Seminole Athletics. The Westside

Courts feature outdoor basketball courts, outdoor

tennis, and sand volleyball.

The FSU Reservation was founded in 1920. Its original name, Camp Flastacowo, was derived from the first few

letters of the Florida State College for Women. The FSU Reservation is a 73-acre facility, with 10 active acres, locat-

ed on beautiful Lake Bradford. The “Rez” is located a quarter mile from the airport and just four miles

from Florida State’s main campus.

The Rez offers swimming, canoeing, sailing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, instructional clinics, beach

volleyaball, disc golf, as well as a retreat center and picnic pavilions.

FSU Challenge is also located at The Rez.
