Long and Short Course Seasons
• Long Course up to Summer Championships• Short Course up to Winter Championships
• Long Course Qualifying Window
• Times from L1 and L2 Rankings• County Championships are L1 or L2
Changes to Counties
• Entry Times to be from Rankings
• DASA have chosen to accept L4 times
• 10/11 at Year-end is youngest age group
• They can now swim 100’s
Changes to Counties
• Essential 50m and 100m events must have heats and finals
• Desirable200m events to have heats and finalsSub-groups in heats (i.e. Not 10yrs to 20yrs together)Cyclical seeding of last three heats of events with finalsOther heats and HDW events to be spearheaded.
Ranking Times for Entry
• DASA have chosen to accept L4 times• Level 4 is single club, or ASA “Low Level
Competition” • Swimmers can be Category 1 or 2• Requirements for Officials are specified –
they are tighter than before but not onerous.
Officials for Level 4• Referee [1] – licensed and qualified to at least J2(s).
• Starter [1] – Qualified to at least J2.
• Judge of Stroke [2] – Qualified to at least J1.
• Finish Judge [2] - No qualification or training required.
• Chief Timekeeper [1] - minimum of J1 in training and qualified to timekeeper.
• Inspector of Turn/Timekeeper – Start End [1 per lane] – Qualified to a minimum of timekeeper. – Turning End at least 1 per two lanes i.e. 6 Lane pool = a minimum of 3 Inspectors of Turn all
of whom must qualified to a minimum of timekeeper.
• All individuals officiating at any meet of any level must be a member of a clubAs should ALL your helpers !
What you need to do
• Get at least your Club Championships Licensed
• If it’s a problem, get together and organise a “Low Level Competition”.
