First Breeding Season GuaranteeAll bulls selling for $3,500 or more will be guaranteed 50% byDerner Angus during their first breeding season. Breeding seasonis defined as the 60-day period following the first turnout of bulls.50% of the value of the injured bull, minus one-half salvage value,will be given as a credit in next year’s sale or toward a replacementbull if one is available. Bulls must be diagnosed by a veterinarian.Please notify us as soon as possible following veterinarianinspection and prior to the injured bull being sold for salvage. USDA marbling score of a sire's progeny compared to progeny ofother sires. Ribeye Area EPD (RE), expressed in square inches, is a predictor of thedifference in ribeye area of a sire's progeny compared to progeny ofother sires.

$VALUE INDEXES$Value indexes are multi-trait selection indexes, expressed in

dollars per head, to assist beef producers by adding simplicity togenetic selection decisions. The $Value is an estimate of how futureprogeny of each sire are expected to perform, on average, compared toprogeny of other sires in the database if the sires were randomly matedto cows and if calves were exposed to the same environment. Weaned Calf Value ($W), an index value expressed in dollars per

head, is the expected average difference in future progenyperformance for preweaning merit. $W includes both revenue andcost adjustments associated with differences in birth weight, weaningdirect growth, maternal milk, and mature cow size. Feedlot Value ($F), an index value expressed in dollars per head,

is the expected average difference in future progeny performance forpostweaning merit compared to progeny of other sires. Grid Value ($G), an index value expressed in dollars per head, is

the expected average difference in future progeny performance forcarcass grid merit compared to progeny of other sires.

•Quality Grade ($QG) $QG represents the quality grade segmentof the economic advantage found in $G. $QG is intended for thespecialized user wanting to place more emphasis on improvingquality grade. The carcass marbling (Marb) EPD contributes to$QG. •Yield Grade ($YG) $YG represents the yield grade segment ofthe economic advantage found in $G. $YG is intended for thespecialized user wanting to place more emphasis on red meatyield.
