Department of Health statement: ‘To meet increasing demand and absorb increasing costs, the NHS needs to concentrate on improving productivity and eliminating waste whilst focussing relentlessly on clinical quality. The NHS needs to identify £15-20 billion of efficiency savings by the end of 2013/14 that can be reinvested in the service to continue to deliver year on year quality improvements’

Response to QIPP within the Section 3 Works Information ‘To this end the NHS has introduced the NHS Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention Challenge (QIPP) initiative which the Trust has integrated into its own policies throughout all services and disciplines.
‘Mr PSCP’ must embed the principles of this initiative within its response to these Employer’s Requirements and proactively encourage and challenge the delivery of the Trust’s CAPEX plan in terms of optimising its resources whilst delivering safe, fit for purpose and effectively therapeutic environments.
