HEARD…most didn’tlike the set-up andbelieve they were givena raw deal by theorganizers.
The venue is certain-ly not suited for suchacts, and neither is theseating arrangement.
An internationallyfamous pop stardescribed the venue astotally unsuitable, butthe organizers continueto give the public a rawdeal.
Probably, their onlyconcern is money!
Pen PalsSeen 'N' Heard Thanks, Ivan, for the “StarTrack” link on the Facebookwallpost of “Music Clubs and
Gangs of 80s-90s.”I know you have done a good
job to promotemusic, amongstthe youngsters,in the 80s-90s.
I really appre-ciate that, andyour work was,and is still, fan-tastic, great and awesome.
I now need to touch on the per-formance of Miley Cyrus at the MTVVideo Music Awards night.
It was a shocking, horrible anddisgusting performance, in front ofmillions of viewers, world wide, thatparticular night.
My family members were watch-ing this show as they wanted to see
the glamorous and beautiful per-formances from the stars of themusic world.
Kids love Miley, because of herfantastic acts on “Hanna Montana”
and some ofmy nephewsand nieceshad hugeposters of herin their bed-room walls.
But nowthey are ashamed to talk about her.
I call Cyrus’ performance at theVMA cheap publicity.
Yes, of course, people will talkabout this nasty performance formany years to come, but they needto know that Miley Cyrus is one ofthe present day shameless singers,in the world music scene.

More brickbats for Miley Cyrus
Rememberthe goodold days
of the sixtiesand seventies inunspoiled SriLanka? If youdo, then some ofthe foremostnostalgic memo-ries that willcome flooding bywill be the glorydays of theSpitfires and the
Jetliners who were the bandsthat dominated the music scene, at that point in time.
Well, the reformed Spitfires were in Australia lastmonth, and Trevine Rodrigo, of the Lankan TimesMelbourne, checked out their Melbourne performanceand sent us the following report:
The reformed Spitfires took Australia by storm, entertaining sell out crowds in Brisbane, Sydney andMelbourne. They were all treated to a vintage displayby the evergreen performers, none of whom appearedto have lost that magic touch of so long ago.
Dalreen Suby, Desmond De Silva, Budrin Musafer,Sohan Peiris and Maxi Rosairo slipped into gear asthough they were back in their heyday and, almostwithout blemish, churned out several hits from an erawhere the music produced then will never die.
To pick a crowdfavourite would bemost unkind, but itmust be said thatthe unending andthe unlimited exu-berance ofDesmond de Silvawas a treat towatch, and he wenton to show why, even after 50 yearsin the business, heis still a class act.
He led the group with great dexterity and theothers, who are professionals in their own right, blend-ed perfectly to give music lovers a musical treat thatwill not be easily forgotten.
Ronnie Boustead (lead guitar and vocals), FelixFernando (bass guitar and vocals), MohanWimalasuriya (organ and vocals), Laurensz Manricks(rhythm guitar) and Hassan Musafer (drums) complet-ed the star-studded line up.
Melbourne’s number one band, Replay 6, began thenight’s proceedings before the Spitfires swung intoaction.
And Esric and Sandra Jackson set the mood byproducing music from way back then to set the tempo, creating the right the mood for the Spitfires.
Yes, what an exhilarating night it turned out to be.

Miley Cyrus’ new controversial‘Wrecking Ball’ video breaksrecords for the most views in 24
hours, receiving 19 million views on Vevo. The risqué singer broke the record that
was previously held by British boy band,One Direction, who’s single, ‘Best SongEver,’ received 12.3 million views on itsfirst day of release, back in July, 2013.
Miley’s eclipsed the previous record fora number of reasons and it is doubtful theactual single ‘Wrecking Ball’, is one ofthem.
The spectacle, known as the ‘wreckingball video’, sees the former Disney starmount a wrecking ball naked, as well asusing a sledge hammer in a provocativefashion whilst singing about heartbreak.Surely there could be easier ways to illus-trate a heartbreak than using hardwaretools?
‘Wrecking Ball’ is Miley’s second singleoff her upcoming album ‘Bangerz’ which
will be released on October 8th, 2013, andthe 20-year-old took to twitter to thank herfans for her record breaking video.
The video also can only remind the pub-lic of Miley’s R-rated VMA performancewith Robin Thicke earlier last month dur-ing a rendition of Thicke’s summeranthem, ‘Blurred Lines’.
The Hanna Montana star ‘twerked’ andgrinded all over Thicke and most shocking-ly began rubbing a foam hand on thecrotch of the married man whilst wearinga tiny nude-coloured bikini.
Miley defended her performance, claim-ing she wanted to “make history.”
Miley may have achieved exactly whatshe wanted as her performance will stickin the public’s minds for a long time tocome, which may have caused momentumfor her video to break the most viewedrecord.
A perfectly executed plan or is it justdown to nothing more than ‘sex sells.’
