Learners with high self esteem learn more quickly as compared to learners with low self esteem. Low self esteem often leads to poor academic achievements and behavioral problems. Teachers should be able to identify poor self esteem in learners and adopt strategies and tools that can enhance self esteem. (Woolfolk & Margetts,2013) Teachers should make learners feel learners good about them self by appreciating their efforts. Praise Learners positive qualities in class. This will help learners to see new image of them self.(Tuckman & Monetti,2011) Teachers should respect feelings of learners. The culture and language of learners should be respected. It will enhance the confidence of learners. Teachers should accept learners as they are and should avoid criticizing learners. Teachers should help learners to feel their importance in class and encourage them to participate in class discussion.
