The course o�erings and requirements of the MBM program are reviewed regularly and modi�ed accordingly. This prospectus is not a contract, it merely presents the o�ers and requirements in e�ect at the time of publication of the prospectus and in no way guarantees that the o�ers and requirements will remain the same during the entire duration of the program.

Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM)Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) is a unique educational, training and research institution supported and supervised by the Bangladesh Bank (central bank), almost all the banks and a few �nancial institutions of Bangladesh. Established as a national level training institute for the banking sector in 1974 under the Societies Act,1860, BIBM caters primarily to the requirements of training of the mid and senior-level o�cers of banks and �nancial institutions. Besides, it conducts workshops in di�erent formats, seminars, roundtable discussions, conferences and undertakes research on banking and allied �elds regularly as a part of consultancy services. BIBM arranges requested training programs and orientation program for the CEOs.

The Director General is the chief executive of the Institute. There are four positions of directors to look after Training; Administration & Accounts; Research, Development & Consultancy, and Dhaka School of Bank Management (DSBM).

BIBM disseminates its various research �ndings through its publications namely, ‘Banking Research Series’, ‘Banking Review Series’ and ‘Research Monograph’. Moreover, BIBM publishes a quarterly professional journal 'Bank Parikrama' on issues related to Banking, Finance, Economics, and Management and publishes a quarterly bulletin titled ‘BIBM Bulletin'. BIBM organizes an annual event titled Annual Banking Conference with a view to enhance knowledge about the latest developments in the �nancial sector through exchange of views, opinions & research �ndings. Global Network and Certi�cation Program of BIBMBIBM, in recent times, has stepped forward to expand its global network through establishing relationship with a number of reputed international academic/professional institutions. BIBM is now a member of European Banking and

Financial Services Training Association (EBTN) and Asia- Paci�c Association of Banking Institutions (APABI). BIBM has also signed a MoU with Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Germany and World Savings & Retail Banking Institute (WSBI), Belgium. BIBM currently o�ers �ve certi�ed programs. One of those, Certi�ed Expert in Risk Management (CERM), is jointly organized with Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. The four others are Certi�ed Expert in Credit Management (CECM), Certi�ed Expert in Trade Services (CETS), Certi�ed Expert in E-Banking (CEEB) and Certi�ed Expert in Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime (CEAF). Moreover, BIBM also launched in collaboration with Moodys Analytics two certi�cation programs titled ‘Certi�cate in Commercial Credit ANALYTICS (CICC)’, and ‘Certi�cate in SME Credit (CiSMEC) from 2019.

Dhaka School of Bank Management (DSBM)BIBM has started Masters in Bank Management (MBM) program in 1997 with the a�liation of National University. The MBM Program is a professional postgraduate program for bank o�cers and others who plan career in banking and allied �elds. For smooth running of the MBM program, Center for Post Graduate Studies (CPGS) was established. In 2006 BIBM introduced MBM Evening program mainly for the bankers and other professionals.

After the successful completion of 17 batches of MBM and 7 batches of MBM Evening, MBM program has been a�liated to the University of Dhaka in 2012. As a requirement of a�liation under the University of Dhaka, BIBM has established Dhaka School of Bank Management (DSBM) for smooth running of the MBM program. Both the MBM and MBM Evening program are conducted under the same regulations and syllabus approved by the University of Dhaka.

ACADEMIC INFORMATION

Course Plan of the MBM Program

MBM program constitutes a total of 66 credit hours. A student shall have to complete twenty (20) courses (3 credit hours for each course). In addition to the required courses, every student must submit a Dissertation (in the last semester) weighing 3 credit hours and appear at four viva-voce examinations after semester I, II, III & IV weighing in total 3 credit hours. However, minimum 48 credit hours will be required for completing the degree with a maximum waiver of 4(four) courses from the fundamental courses only. Duration of the MBM program is twenty-eight months divided into �ve semesters. For each course, there will be 42 hours of class lectures. The distribution of total credit hours is as follows:

A. Fundamental Courses: 11 (Eleven) courses: 3×11=33 credit hours

B. Core (Compulsory) Courses: 5 (Five) courses: 3×5 = 15 credit hours

C. Capstone Course: 3 credit hours

A student must take 3 (three) of the above 16 (Sixteen) courses to complete the MBM program. However, the course(s) to be o�ered will be decided by Dhaka School of Bank Management (DSBM).

Medium of Instruction

English is the medium of instruction in MBM program.

Switching of a Student from MBM to MBM- Evening Program

A student enrolled in MBM program can apply for switching to MBM-Evening program if the student during his/her tenure in MBM program gets a job. In that case, student does not need to take those courses which have been completed by him/her in the MBM program. All the results of the completed courses (mid, term �nal exam and other exams) will be incorporated for calculating the MBM- Evening CGPA. A student switching to MBM- Evening Program will attend the remaining required viva-voce consecutively in a way that includes viva-voce of term VII.

Evaluation System

Two mid-semester examinations will be held for each course. An Examination Committee will be formed for the purpose of semester-�nal examination. The Committee will be proposed by DSBM and be approved by the University of Dhaka. Answer scripts of the semester �nal examinations will be evaluated by two examiners while the mid-semester and other evaluations will be done by the teachers of the respective courses.

Total marks for each course is 100. The distribution of the marks is as follows:

A course will not be completed without appearing at the semester �nal exam. Viva-voce will be conducted by the Examination Committee. Mark for each viva-voce is 25 (twenty �ve). To pass each viva-voce, a student must obtain at least 40% marks. The students will have to submit a dissertation after the completion of course work carrying a weight of three credit hours. The full mark for the Dissertation is 100 and distributed as follows:

Report writing part of the dissertation will be supervised by one internal guide teacher and evaluated by the internal guide teacher and one external expert, meaning an expert within/outside the institute. Dissertation defense will be conducted by the Examination Committee. To pass dissertation, a student must obtain at least 40% marks both in Report Writing and defense.

Grading System

The grading system of MBM program will be as follows:

Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) will be computed to determine the academic standing of the student in the program. Final CGPA will be determined on the basis of the grade point earned in all required credit courses of the program.

Course WaiverMaximum four courses from the list of fundamental courses may be waived for a student. However, for getting waiver in any course, a student must have minimum “B” grade or equivalent in that particular course in his / her previous Undergraduate/Graduation program. The applicant must also pass a waiver test.

Class AttendanceA Student needs to attend at least 75% of the total classes in a particular course to be eligible to appear at the �nal examination. As per the rules of the program, students having class attendance in the range of 60% - 74% in a course are considered as non-collegiate students and students having less than 60% attendance in a course are treated as dis-collegiate students. Non-collegiate students, having acceptable reason for lower attendance, shall be required to pay a certain amount of fee to be determined by the authority to appear at the examination in subsequent years.

Degree Requirements and AwardA student must meet the following requirements to earn the MBM degree:

* Complete the program within 6 (six) academic years from the date of registration.

* Complete all the required courses successfully.

* Earn minimum CGPA of 2.5 with no “F” grade in any course.

* Remain free from any disciplinary actions.* Clear all the dues of the program.

Retake, Improvement, Make-up and WithdrawalA student failing (obtaining ‘F’ grade) in any course for any reason whatsoever must retake the examination of that course with the following batch. However, a student can retake at most 4 (four) courses during the entire enrolment. A student obtaining lower than minimum “B” (plain) grade in a course may sit for the Term-�nal examination in that course for improvement with the following batch. In that case, a student’s grade will be calculated on the basis of the marks obtained in the improvement examination i.e. grade obtained earlier will be cancelled. Generally a student can sit for Retake/ Improvement an examination of a course only once. Extraordinary cases may be recommended by the Institute to the University of Dhaka for consideration.

Temporary withdrawal from the program may be allowed to a student with permission from the University of Dhaka. However, in order to maintain the continuation of studentship, a student will have to pay term fees during the withdrawal period. Students, in any case, must complete the program within a period of 6 academic years from the date of initial registration.

Promotion to the next SemesterA student must attend the �nal examinations of all the courses in a semester for getting promotion to the next semester. Extraordinary cases may be recommended by the Institute to the University of Dhaka for consideration. Moreover a student must obtain minimum SGPA 2.50 (C+) to get promotion to the next semester.

Unfair MeansAdopting unfair means in all types of examinations and other academic activities is strictly prohibited. The following, among others, would be considered as adoption of unfair means:a. Communicating with fellow students in theexaminations;b. Copying from another students’s script/ report/ paper;c. Allowing other students to copy;d. Copying from printed matter/ hand written manuscripts/ writing from desk or palm of a hand/electronic devices;e. Possessing any document with a mala �deintent, whether used or not;f. Approaching a teacher directly or indirectly to in�uence a grade; andg. Any unruly behavior which disrupts academicprogram.If adoption of unfair means is detected, the student may be given an 'F' grade for that assignment / surprise test / report / examination or for that course. Adoption of unfair means may also result in the dismissal of the student from the program.

Appeal Against GradeIt is generally acknowledged that teachers are the best judge of a student’s performance in a given course. However, a student may consider a grade to have been unfairly assigned. In such cases, the student may wish to �le a formal appeal against the grade with the University of Dhaka through DSBM within one week of the publication of the result.

Student ConductEach student is responsible for knowing the rules, regulations, academic requirements and disciplinary policies of DSBM. He/she is expected to behave in accordance with good moral values, and the rules and regulations of DSBM either on campus or outside. Politics is completely prohibited in the campus. Any form of unruly behavior will be subject to punishment including expulsion from the program.

ADMISSIONThe objective of the admission policy is to select students on a competitive basis for the MBM program.

RequirementsA graduate in any �eld of study with minimum 16 years of schooling having at least one �rst division/class and no third division/class in any examination is eligible to apply. CGPA equivalence for those who have passed under Division/ Class system is as follows:

Section ProcessAll applicants, ful�lling the minimum requirements, sit for an admission test comprising MCQ and written sections. The admission test is of 150 minutes; 90 minutes for the MCQ and 60 minutes for the written portion.

The MCQ section of the Test is designed to assess the general merit of the applicant. The question structure and distribution of marks for the MCQ are as follows:

Subject to attaining a minimum percentage of marks in di�erent sections of the admission test, a maximum of top 200 applicants will be called for viva-voce. Viva-voce will carry 10 marks. Regardless of the score in the admission test, an applicant will not be in the �nal merit list unless he/she obtains a minimum marks in the viva-voce. The �nal merit list of 80 students will be prepared according to the total marks obtained in the admission test and viva voce. However, 20 seats of the �nal merit list will be reserved for the bank nominated applicants subject to being included in the list of top 200 applicants. In this regard, maximum number of �nally selected from a bank will be �ve.

Application Procedure and ScheduleAny eligible candidate must apply in the prescribed form. The form along with a copy of prospectus and sample test is available at the DSBM o�ce on payment of Tk. 1000/- (non- refundable). These can also be obtained from BIBM website. RegistrationApplicants �nally selected for the program should obtain the prescribed forms of admission and registration from the DSBM o�ce. They have to submit the following documents along with their admission and registration forms and the required tuition and other fees.a. Attested photocopies of mark sheets and

certi�cates of the S.S.C/'O' Level/ equivalent and H.S.C/ 'A' level/ equivalent examinations.

b. Attested photocopies of mark sheet/ grade and certi�cate of the Bachelor degree.

c. Attested photocopies of mark sheet/ grade and certi�cate of the Master’s degree or equivalent examination, where applicable.

d. Release order from the employer (for the candidates who are in service).

e. Two copies of recently taken attested photographs.

f. Character certi�cate.

g. Original copy of the Migration Certi�cate (issued by the respective university) for the quali�ed students from any recognized university except the students of the University of Dhaka.

A student is required to complete registration in accordance with the guidelines issued by DSBM and the University of Dhaka before starting academic classes.

Foreign StudentsStudents having foreign nationality can apply for admission, provided the admission requirements are ful�lled. Pro�ciency in English language is essential. Accommodation in BIBM Hostel is available if requested well in advance. The Government of Bangladesh requires routing of the applications through the Bangladesh Embassy/High Commission in the country of the applicant.

Principles and Practices of Banking (501)The course is designed to develop an in-depth understanding of the nature and operations of banks. The course is aimed at building up the knowledge of developmental banking, Islamic banking, and central banking. The students are expected to become well-conversant with major functions of a bank after completing the course.

Business Communication (502)This course is designed to furnish students with a comprehensive view of communication, its scope and importance in business. The role of communication in establishing a favorable external connectivity as well as e�ective internal interactions is incorporated. The various types of business communication media such as written, oral, graphics etc. are covered. This course also develops skill and style of succinct report writing for modern business communication.

Principles of Accounting (503)The objective of this course is to acquaint the students with the concepts, principles, techniques and process of accounting. This course will enable the students to understand �nancial accounting process and to understand �nancial statements of di�erent organizations.

Business Mathematics (504)The purpose of the course is to acquaint and equip the students with the basic mathematical tools and techniques which are commonly used in the �eld of economics, �nance, banking and other activities. The course topics include elements of arithmetic, mathematics of �nance, functions, equations, set theory, geometry, logarithm, calculus and matrix. All these techniques will help the students to develop quantitative knowledge in order to take di�erent business decisions.

Microeconomics (505)The objective of the course is to teach the core issues of microeconomics in a way that will enable

the students to develop the economic way of thinking. The course provides a sound base for economic analysis that will be useful for the students throughout their professional careers Fundamentals of Management (506)The objective of the course is to impart knowledge relating to management theory and practice for e�ective and e�cient accomplishment of organizational goals. Through the application of management tools and techniques students will apprehend a critical appraisal of real life situations involving organizing, sta�ng, and motivating. The students are expected to build up skills relating to problem solving, valuing diversity, and coping with the change.

Laws and Ethics in Banking (507)The objectives of the course is to develop a concrete understanding about the di�erent Acts/ Laws that are related to the functional areas of banking. The course is also aimed to build up a keen sense of the ethical issues in the business.

Macroeconomics (508)The objective of the course is to provide the student with the fundamentals of macroeconomic concepts and policy making process. The students are expected to learn the macroeconomic objectives and tools that are applied in achieving the goals of an economy.

Business Statistics (509)The course is designed to equip the students with the statistical tools and concepts used in the decision making process in banks, �nancial institutions and other entities. Methods of descriptive and inferential statistics are covered with speci�c reference to measures of central tendency, probability distribution, hypothesis testing, regression and correlation, time series analysis and other statistical analysis for banking decisions.

Financial Management (510)The objectives of the course are to recognize the fundamental �nancial component in problems and issues commonly faced by managers, identify and break down key �nancial problems and to carry out �nancial analyses of management problems to facilitate management decision making.

Principles of Marketing (511)The purpose of the course is to teach the application of marketing concepts, theories, Principles, and practices as they relate to the management of the marketing function in an organization. Students will be exposed to the development, evaluation, and implementation of marketing management in a variety of business environments. Emphasis will be given on the managerial aspects of marketing plans and strategies.

Commercial Bank Management (512)The course has been designed to develop a comprehensive understanding in di�erent key areas of bank management which includes asset- liability management, liquidity management, pricing deposit services, lending policies and performance evaluation of banks.

Governance in Banks (513)This course will teach the fundamental concepts, theories and practice of governance in Banks. This course covers emergency of corporate governance codes and principles speci�cally in the banking industry. The cross cutting issues such as governance and ethics in banks, governance and CSR in banks, and role of central bank in ensuring governance in Banks are included in the course.

International Trade and Finance (514)This course has been designed to acquaint the students with the concepts and practices of the facilitation of international trade payments and techniques of �nancing by the banks. Keeping this broad aim in mind, topics related to the trade theories, concepts and procedures of trade

payments and trade �nance, documents, relevant regulations and practices of trade payment and �nancing of banks in Bangladesh are incorporated in the course contents. Central Banking (515)The objectives of the course are to explore the whole issues of central banking like objectives, functions, autonomy, regulatory aspects of central banking, and various approaches of bank supervision. The course is expected to increase the level of understanding of the students relating to the role of central banking in combating bank failure and �nancial crisis. A good part of the syllabus is devoted on central banking in Bangladesh. That will help the students to think about the environment of central banking in our country.

Risk Management in Banks (516)The course has been designed to equip the students to identify various risks and key players in the risk management process. Di�erent aspects of banking risk management process will be emphasized in the course. Role of regulators, board and management in the risk management process will be discussed. In order to provide insight into the risk management process of a bank to the students, core risk management guidelines and risk based capital adequacy guideline will also be covered in this course.

Strategic Management (517)The course focuses on the strategic issues of organization as a whole and it's the transactions with its stakeholders. The course helps to develop a framework of analysis to enable students to identify the central issues and problems in complex and comprehensive case and bridges the gap between theory and practice.

Credit Management in Banks (518)The aim of this course is to make the student understand the process of credit management. The course focuses on basic issues related to bank lending i. e. loan application, credit investigation, CIB, credit appraisal, sanctioning, documentation

and disbursement process including pricing and risk assessment. This course will make students capable of handling credit portfolio of banks properly. Marketing of Bank Services (519)The purpose of the course is to teach concepts, theories, strategies and practices relating to marketing of bank services. Students of this course will be exposed to the development, evaluation, and implementation of bank marketing management in a variety of banking environments. Primarily this course aims to provide an in-depth appreciation and understanding of the unique challenges inherent in managing and delivering quality banking services.

Commercial Bank Management (512)The course has been designed to develop a comprehensive understanding in di�erent key areas of bank management which includes asset- liability management, liquidity management, pricing deposit services, lending policies and performance evaluation of banks.

Governance in Banks (513)This course will teach the fundamental concepts, theories and practice of governance in Banks. This course covers emergency of corporate governance codes and principles speci�cally in the banking industry. The cross cutting issues such as governance and ethics in banks, governance and CSR in banks, and role of central bank in ensuring governance in Banks are included in the course.

International Trade and Finance (514)This course has been designed to acquaint the students with the concepts and practices of the facilitation of international trade payments and techniques of �nancing by the banks. Keeping this broad aim in mind, topics related to the trade theories, concepts and procedures of trade

payments and trade �nance, documents, relevant regulations and practices of trade payment and �nancing of banks in Bangladesh are incorporated in the course contents. Central Banking (515)The objectives of the course are to explore the whole issues of central banking like objectives, functions, autonomy, regulatory aspects of central banking, and various approaches of bank supervision. The course is expected to increase the level of understanding of the students relating to the role of central banking in combating bank failure and �nancial crisis. A good part of the syllabus is devoted on central banking in Bangladesh. That will help the students to think about the environment of central banking in our country.

Risk Management in Banks (516)The course has been designed to equip the students to identify various risks and key players in the risk management process. Di�erent aspects of banking risk management process will be emphasized in the course. Role of regulators, board and management in the risk management process will be discussed. In order to provide insight into the risk management process of a bank to the students, core risk management guidelines and risk based capital adequacy guideline will also be covered in this course.

Computer Laboratory

The Institute has two modern computer laboratories with LAN system and individual internet facilities. The LAN is Windows Server 2010 based. These laboratories provide BIBM trainees and MBM students with computer related services. WiFi connectivity is available in DSBM premise.

Library

BIBM Library is fully automated having a rich collection of about 26,000 books. The Institute subscribes to about 200 domestic and foreign journals, magazines and other periodicals. BIBM also subscribes online journal portal where from the users can get access to a wide collection of various journals.

BIBM Campus

The Institute has a lush green campus. The main building is �ve storied. It houses the administrative and faculty o�ces, conference rooms, lecture and seminar rooms, computer labs and library. It also has a cafeteria for the trainees and the students. The BIBM campus is well protected. BIBM has a hostel facility which is ordinarily available to the trainees. A very limited number of seats may be allocated to second year MBM students solely at the discretion of BIBM authority.

A study tour is also included in the schedule of MBM program.

Extra Curricular Activities

DSBM encourages all out development of a student and for that it has ample facilities for various extra curricular activities. Students organize cultural programs, sports, debates in BIBM premises. A number of clubs are involved in arranging these activities. Currently, Cultural and Social Welfare club, Study and Business club, Sports club, Debate club, and Language club are working in respective �elds. Each Student will be required to participate in at least one of those clubs.

A part-time doctor for consultation at its premises is available.

Recreation

DSBM has modest recreation facilities for the students. It has indoor game facilities, TV room, prayer room and a gymnasium equipped with �tness instruments. Besides, DSBM has a playground for outdoor games and sports.

Principles and Practices of Banking (501)The course is designed to develop an in-depth understanding of the nature and operations of banks. The course is aimed at building up the knowledge of developmental banking, Islamic banking, and central banking. The students are expected to become well-conversant with major functions of a bank after completing the course.

Business Communication (502)This course is designed to furnish students with a comprehensive view of communication, its scope and importance in business. The role of communication in establishing a favorable external connectivity as well as e�ective internal interactions is incorporated. The various types of business communication media such as written, oral, graphics etc. are covered. This course also develops skill and style of succinct report writing for modern business communication.

Principles of Accounting (503)The objective of this course is to acquaint the students with the concepts, principles, techniques and process of accounting. This course will enable the students to understand �nancial accounting process and to understand �nancial statements of di�erent organizations.

Business Mathematics (504)The purpose of the course is to acquaint and equip the students with the basic mathematical tools and techniques which are commonly used in the �eld of economics, �nance, banking and other activities. The course topics include elements of arithmetic, mathematics of �nance, functions, equations, set theory, geometry, logarithm, calculus and matrix. All these techniques will help the students to develop quantitative knowledge in order to take di�erent business decisions.

Microeconomics (505)The objective of the course is to teach the core issues of microeconomics in a way that will enable

the students to develop the economic way of thinking. The course provides a sound base for economic analysis that will be useful for the students throughout their professional careers Fundamentals of Management (506)The objective of the course is to impart knowledge relating to management theory and practice for e�ective and e�cient accomplishment of organizational goals. Through the application of management tools and techniques students will apprehend a critical appraisal of real life situations involving organizing, sta�ng, and motivating. The students are expected to build up skills relating to problem solving, valuing diversity, and coping with the change.

Laws and Ethics in Banking (507)The objectives of the course is to develop a concrete understanding about the di�erent Acts/ Laws that are related to the functional areas of banking. The course is also aimed to build up a keen sense of the ethical issues in the business.

Macroeconomics (508)The objective of the course is to provide the student with the fundamentals of macroeconomic concepts and policy making process. The students are expected to learn the macroeconomic objectives and tools that are applied in achieving the goals of an economy.

Business Statistics (509)The course is designed to equip the students with the statistical tools and concepts used in the decision making process in banks, �nancial institutions and other entities. Methods of descriptive and inferential statistics are covered with speci�c reference to measures of central tendency, probability distribution, hypothesis testing, regression and correlation, time series analysis and other statistical analysis for banking decisions.

Financial Management (510)The objectives of the course are to recognize the fundamental �nancial component in problems and issues commonly faced by managers, identify and break down key �nancial problems and to carry out �nancial analyses of management problems to facilitate management decision making.

Principles of Marketing (511)The purpose of the course is to teach the application of marketing concepts, theories, Principles, and practices as they relate to the management of the marketing function in an organization. Students will be exposed to the development, evaluation, and implementation of marketing management in a variety of business environments. Emphasis will be given on the managerial aspects of marketing plans and strategies.

Commercial Bank Management (512)The course has been designed to develop a comprehensive understanding in di�erent key areas of bank management which includes asset- liability management, liquidity management, pricing deposit services, lending policies and performance evaluation of banks.

Governance in Banks (513)This course will teach the fundamental concepts, theories and practice of governance in Banks. This course covers emergency of corporate governance codes and principles speci�cally in the banking industry. The cross cutting issues such as governance and ethics in banks, governance and CSR in banks, and role of central bank in ensuring governance in Banks are included in the course.

International Trade and Finance (514)This course has been designed to acquaint the students with the concepts and practices of the facilitation of international trade payments and techniques of �nancing by the banks. Keeping this broad aim in mind, topics related to the trade theories, concepts and procedures of trade

payments and trade �nance, documents, relevant regulations and practices of trade payment and �nancing of banks in Bangladesh are incorporated in the course contents. Central Banking (515)The objectives of the course are to explore the whole issues of central banking like objectives, functions, autonomy, regulatory aspects of central banking, and various approaches of bank supervision. The course is expected to increase the level of understanding of the students relating to the role of central banking in combating bank failure and �nancial crisis. A good part of the syllabus is devoted on central banking in Bangladesh. That will help the students to think about the environment of central banking in our country.

Risk Management in Banks (516)The course has been designed to equip the students to identify various risks and key players in the risk management process. Di�erent aspects of banking risk management process will be emphasized in the course. Role of regulators, board and management in the risk management process will be discussed. In order to provide insight into the risk management process of a bank to the students, core risk management guidelines and risk based capital adequacy guideline will also be covered in this course.

Strategic Management (517)The course focuses on the strategic issues of organization as a whole and it's the transactions with its stakeholders. The course helps to develop a framework of analysis to enable students to identify the central issues and problems in complex and comprehensive case and bridges the gap between theory and practice.

Credit Management in Banks (518)The aim of this course is to make the student understand the process of credit management. The course focuses on basic issues related to bank lending i. e. loan application, credit investigation, CIB, credit appraisal, sanctioning, documentation

and disbursement process including pricing and risk assessment. This course will make students capable of handling credit portfolio of banks properly. Marketing of Bank Services (519)The purpose of the course is to teach concepts, theories, strategies and practices relating to marketing of bank services. Students of this course will be exposed to the development, evaluation, and implementation of bank marketing management in a variety of banking environments. Primarily this course aims to provide an in-depth appreciation and understanding of the unique challenges inherent in managing and delivering quality banking services.

E-Banking and Management Information System (520)The objective of the course is to develop a thorough understanding of e-banking issues, concepts and operations. It will sensitize the students on the opportunities and challenges associated with electronic banking and increase their capacity to plan for e-banking operations. The other main purpose is to provide the students with an understanding of the role of computer-based information systems in business organizations and the analytical skills required to work with management information systems.

International Financial Management (521)The goal of the course is to provide an understanding on the nature of international �nancial environment. It examines the factors encountered by international �nancial manager in making �nancing decisions with a global perspective. Emphasis is given on the key features of foreign exchange markets and managing FEX risks.

Islamic Banking and Finance (526)The objective of the course is to provide a comprehensive framework of Islamic �nance and banking as an alternative mode of traditional �nance. The course will facilitate the students to comprehend the theoretical framework of Islamic Shariah within which the foundations of Islamic Economics, Finance and Banking have been rooted. Rural & Agricultural Banking (527)The objectives of the course are to build up knowledge and develop innovative idea in the area of agricultural and rural banking. Through

Financial Engineering and Derivatives (528)The course aims at reviewing the main models and modeling techniques used in practical applications, understanding their applicability and limitations, and at building an integrated framework allowing students to decide what stochastic factors should be incorporated in a reasonable pricing model for a given derivative; formulate a consistent model incorporating the chosen factors; calibrate the model using market data; price the derivative and identify a hedging strategy.

Project Management (529)The aim of this course is to impart knowledge on project related activities and management. This course will cover the techniques of project identi�cation, formulation, appraisal, and management. This course will enable the students to appraise projects before �nancing.
