As well as arranging your dialysis onboard we also take care of your cruise booking, your flights and transfers. We are always happy to answer your questions and to discuss the different types of cruise options with you. Dialysis treatment times and cabin availability on all ships is limited andavailable on a first come, first served basis. We can accommodateapproximately 12-16 patients per cruise therefore we recommend bookingas early as possible. Also, if you book soon you can take advantage of the early booking promotions shown in this brochure.

YOUR ONBOARD DIALYSIS

Your Dialysis treatmentsYour dialysis treatments will take place in the dedicated Dialysis Suite onboard each ship. You will be looked after from the beginning to the end of your cruise by a qualified Nephrologist and nurses who are onboard for the duration of your cruise.

The dialysis team can be contacted 24 hours a day. Wherever possible your dialysis treatments will be arranged around the ports of call ensuring you can make the most of your cruise. Shore excursions are usually offered so that you can visit the local places of interest. Alternatively, if you wish to explore independently you can make your own way or public transport and taxis are available.

Payment for dialysis sessionsMost renal units will meet the cost of dialysis sessions onboard.Please check with your Holiday Dialysis Co-ordinator at your dialysis unit.The EHIC is not accepted onboard cruise ships. Dialysis sessions onboard the Celebrity and Royal Caribbean ships are charged at $575 (approx £359) per dialysis session. Dialysis onboard Deutschland, Europa, Astor and Mozart are charged at €299 (approx £236) per session. The dialysis sessions onboard MSC Cruises are charged at €340 (approx £269) per session.

GrantsAdults and families affected by kidney disease who are unable to pay the full cost of a holiday can apply to the British Kidney Patient Association (BKPA) for a grant. To apply for a grant please contact your renal unit social worker or a member of your kidney care team.

Passport & Visa RequirementsAll guests must be in possession of a valid passport and visas (if required).If you are visiting Egypt or Russia during your cruise and do not wish toparticipate in an organised excursion you will need to obtain a visa prior to travel (this applies to UK passport holders). If you do wish to take part in an organised shore excursion you will be covered by a group visa. British citizens must be in possession of a 10 year passport (five years for children) valid for at least six months after your return to the UK.If you are a non-UK passport holder please visit www.thevisacompany.com for visa requirement information. What to wearDuring the day casual wear is ideal with comfortable shoes for exploring ashore. Although cruising isn’t as formal as it once was, some passengers still love to dress up in the evening. During every cruise there is usually a Captain’s Welcome Dinner and a Captain’s Farewell Gala. During these evenings you may choose to wear something a little more formal. However, it’s your holiday so it’s up to you !

Your cruise fare includes…The cruise fares shown are per person, based on 2 people sharing and include comfortable en-suite accommodation, all meals throughout your cruise, onboard leisure facilities, daily onboard activities and eveningentertainment. Alternative grades of cabin are available, please ask for fares. All prices, special offers, cabin grades and offers are subject to availability at the time of booking. • All bookings are subject to approval from the medical director onboard upon receipt of the client’s medical information. All dialysis places are allocated on a first come, first served basis and will not be allocated until approval from the medical director has been received. All fares shown are cruise only unless stated otherwise. • All fares shown are per person based on 2 people sharing. Single occupancy cabins are available, please enquire for fares.• Fares apply to dialysis patient and accompanying guest. A dialysis arrangement fee will be added to all bookings.• Flights and transfers can be arranged at additional cost. • All bookings are subject to the operator’s terms and conditions - please refer to the relevant brochures/website for details. Dialysis at Sea carry a surety bond to protect clients in case of bankruptcy. All bookings onboard MSC Cruises are protected by APS (French trade association of solidarity of tourism) and SNAV (French national trade union of travel agencies). All payments are protected by a financial guarantee provided by APS and SNAS. Therefore, if any of the above cruise companies cease to operate your payment will be protected. ABTA bonding is not applicable to your cruise booking as ABTA will not refund any payments made to companies outside of the UK. When booking and paying for flights, hotels, transfers in GBP£ these elements of your booking will be fully ABTA bonded.
